Andrew and Tristan Tate, prominent influencers in the so-called manosphere, were arrested by federal marshals in Miami on Saturday in connection with new criminal charges of rape and sex trafficking in England, U.S. and British law enforcement officials said.
Prosecutors in Britain said that they were seeking the brothers’ extradition.
The Tates, who have British and American citizenship, were detained “pending ongoing legal proceedings,” according to a statement from the police in Bedfordshire, a county north of London.
British prosecutors had previously charged the brothers with rape, human trafficking and sexual assault. The new charges stem from alleged offenses involving four women that took place between July 2010 and August 2017, Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement on Sunday after the arrests.
British prosecutors said the new charges against Andrew Tate, 39, include seven counts of rape; three counts of sex trafficking; three counts of assault; and 19 more charges relating to sexual images of children and “extreme pornography.” » | Isabella Kwai, MeganTwohey and Mack Liederman | Saturday, July 18, 2026

Tate Brothers, Facing Sex Crime Inquiries, Arrive in Florida From Romania
THE NEW YORK TIMES: The abrupt departure of Andrew and Tristan Tate, who had been held in Romania for two years, raised questions about whether the Trump administration had intervened.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, the British American online influencers, arrived in Florida on Thursday morning after a Romanian court ruled they could leave the country, a development that raised questions about whether the Trump administration played a role in their sudden departure.
The brothers, who had been barred from leaving Romania for more than two years over criminal investigations, boarded a private jet in Romania early Thursday morning local time, said Joseph McBride, their lawyer in the United States. They landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shortly after 11 a.m.
The Tate brothers have openly aligned themselves with the Trump administration in recent weeks. Romanian officials said that the United States had not put pressure on them, and the Tate brothers’ lawyer, who has long lobbied U.S. lawmakers on their behalf, said he could not comment on whether U.S. officials had used their power to free the men.
Still, the lawyer, Mr. McBride, said earlier on Thursday: “Do the math. These guys are on the plane.” » | Isabella Kwai, Matei Barbulescu and Alan Feuer | Matei Barbulescu reported from Bucharest, Romania. | Thursday, February 27, 2025

Andrew and Tristan Tate Leave Romania on Jet Bound for the US, Sources Tell BBC | BBC News
Feb 27, 2025 | Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have left Romania, sources have told the BBC.
The pair are believed to have departed by private jet, bound for the US shortly after 3am.
The brothers were arrested in Romania three years ago and face trial on allegations of rape, trafficking minors and money laundering, all of which they deny.
They had been banned from leaving the country while they await the outcome of their trial in Romania, however it appears those travel restrictions have been lifted.
The Romanian prime minister had previously denied being pressured by the US government to allow the brothers, who hold dual UK-US nationality, to travel.
Separately, the brothers are wanted by police in the UK over allegations of rape and human trafficking, which they also deny. Their extradition to the UK will be dealt with once the Romania case finishes.
