Saudi Arabia to Expel Students Mocking Islam


ARABIAN BUSINESS: The Saudi Ministry of Education has announced it will expel students who mock Islam or spread illicit ideas in a crackdown following reports of several dissident students, according to local media.

Students will be barred from any Saudi education institution for a year, the ministry said.

School principals also were told to report any suspect cases, which would be investigated.

Several students had reportedly mocked the rituals of Islam and been found discussing subjects and ideas that violate Islamic law. » | Courtney Trenwith | Monday, September 30, 2013
