According to multiple reports, French associations and NGOs are still waiting for the go-ahead from the Moroccan government to send emergency relief to towns in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains which have been damaged by a devastating earthquake that killed 2,497 people and injured 2,476 more, as per Morocco's Interior Ministry latest update on Monday, September 11, 2023. This is because the Moroccan government has reportedly rejected an earthquake aid package from France, despite being in crisis.
