Murdered Norwegian Girl’s Father Begs Arab Billionaire to Hand Over His Son

MAIL ON SUNDAY: The father of the beautiful Norwegian student murdered in London has made an impassioned plea to the man wanted in connection with her killing to give himself up.

Farouk Abdulhak, the son of a billionaire tycoon, was the last person to be seen with 23-year-old Martine Vik Magnussen.

He fled to his native Yemen two days before her body was found, semi-naked and strangled, in the basement of the block of luxury flats where he lived.

From his home in Oslo, Martine's father Petter Magnussen, 56, told The Mail on Sunday: "Martine's loss has turned my life upside-down. I cannot begin to articulate the grief my family and I feel after losing her. To do so would kill me. But I feel an obligation to contribute towards getting justice for my daughter.

"The British police have repeatedly expressed their wish to speak to Farouk in Britain. If he has no information about Martine's death, there is no reason to make himself unavailable to them."

Petter, chief executive officer for a company that makes rescue equipment for Nato, believes that Farouk's father Shaher Abdulhak could be using his money and influence to prevent his son being brought back to Britain.

"As a father I understand the challenge facing Mr Abdulhak on a personal level," said Petter. "But I trust he is able to put himself in my position and sympathise with what my family and I are going through.

"As parents, we raise our children to make the right choices in life. In this case, coming forward to clarify the circumstances of Martine's death is clearly the right thing to do.

"I am convinced Mr Shaher Abdulhak has the authority to help ensure justice prevails. I hope he will use it so our family can continue with our lives in the best way possible." Hand Your Son Over, Murdered Girl's Father Begs Arab Billionaire >>> By Antonia Hoyle | May 11, 2008
