JB Pritzker stood up against this MAGA-driven censorship by signing a first-in-the-nation law banning book bans. Because, as Gov. Pritzker says: “Democracies don’t ban books; regimes do.”
One would be forgiven for thinking this discussion was taking place in Hitler’s Third Reich circa 1933, but it isn’t. It is taking place in the USA right now, in 2026, in Trump’s evil and brutal dystopia. So, JB Pritzker’s theme is a great one, and it is very timely. We should all thank him for highlighting the stupidity and dangerousness of MAGA. — © Mark Alexander
