Strong language alert!
Should we be surprised that Trump is in serious cognitive decline? The man is a geriatric in the true sense of the word. And America is a gerontocracy. For some inexplicable reason, Americans have a penchant for selecting old, doddering people to lead them. Joe Biden was old and doddering, too; but he was benign. By contrast, in Trump, Americans have chosen another old, doddering man to lead them. Unfortunately, however, Trump is not benign like Biden, but malign.
Having had a very long relationship with an American for way more than eighteen years, and having spent a lot of time in American during those years, I know this about Americans: they never know when to retire, they never know when to give up work, they never know when to call it a day. And that is true even when there is no financial need for them to keep on working. You must all have heard the term, ‘shop till you drop’. Well Americans add to this motto, and live by it ‘Work away until you pass away’! — © Mark Alexander
