UK Heatwave to Return Next Week as Wildfire Risk Climbs

Aug 8, 2026 | With yet another heatwave on the horizon, an early warning has been issued to health and social care providers in large parts of England that adverse temperatures may impact the population from today until Tuesday evening.

Many parts of England and Wales will face a very high risk of wildfires for days to come according to Natural England, with the risk expected to rise to 'exceptional' in some places by Wednesday.

And meanwhile, across Europe emergency services continue to battle many fires that are already burning.
