The United States is not, nor has it ever been, a party to the ICC, which was established during the presidency of Bill Clinton. But could the ICC investigate and indict Americans anyway?

The reason why Marco Rubio wants to dismantle the ICC “brick by brick” is probably because he wants to protect his master—Trump—who himself probably qualifies as an international criminal because of his illegitimate international wars and operations, and who is probably terrified of being hauled before the Court and put on trial. There are also almost certainly others in the Trump regime among his troupe of Trumpettes who might well qualify to be put on trial. So, they probably feel that it would be better to disband the organisation to safeguard themselves. — © Mark Alexander
