Republicans Prepare to Cut Food Stamps to Pay for Trump's Tax Cuts

Jan 6, 2025 | Republicans in Washington, D.C. have made extending the 2017 Tax Cuts a priority as the new session kicks off, but many in the caucus want to know how to pay for those cuts. The solutions they have come up with are all devastating to the public, including the likelihood of cuts to the SNAP program and cuts to Medicaid. And if that's not enough, they are also planning to role back environmental protections and imposing Trump's tariffs - both of which would also negatively impact American citizens.
