The attack in the Kursk region has been the largest incursion on Russian territory in more than two years of war, prompting Putin to claim that it was intended to “intimidate society and to undermine stability”.
Zelenskyy said in his nightly address: “Russia brought war to others, now it’s coming home. Ukraine has always wanted only peace, and we will certainly ensure peace.”
