THE TELEGRAPH: Snow fell as far south as Yorkshire as drivers were stranded in cars following blizzards in Scotland as winter came early to Britain.
Early snow covered parts of Aberdeenshire, the Cairngorms and Shetland - as well as the Pennines.
A number of drivers needed police assistance after getting stuck on the B974 at Cairn o’Mount, near Aberdeen.
The road became impassable due to snow and ice and was later closed.
Grampian Police spokesman Alan Majury said: “Several cars were stuck on the B974 and could not get along the road due to snow.
“The people are still with their vehicles and police officers are assisting them.” >>> | Wednesday, October 20, 2010
