Life is just a bowl of cherries! Or, in the case of Prince Charles, one big fancy dress party!

The Clown Prince. How appropriate for BIG EARS. This man is a walking joke. Yes I know he does good charitable deeds, he lends his name to many worthy causes, but sadly this does not raise his stature one inch where it really matters - gravitas, the necessary character trait of a man who would be king.

So well stated, JAR!

My condolences: One doesn't quite know to say when a future head of state appears in public quite this way...

I wonder what really lies behind that seedy old dressing gown and wellington boots?

One can but wonder! To me, the darn thing looks moth-eaten! :-)

I see that you haven't lost your sense of humour!

There is still a lot of wear yet in that old dressing gown.

You could have fooled me! :-)

You surely don't expect to see him in new clothes every day, do you?

No, certainly not. He spends all his extra pocket-money on flowers for his residences instead.

And the other fancy stuff - that is what happens when you let modern day designers have a go at the royal wardrobe.

All I can say is this: I'm sure glad I can't afford his designers!

Eleanor, yes it is hard to believe. I think he's putting in some practice for when the circus comes to town! :-)

I presume you mean in the first photo. Yes, or mummy couldn't afford to buy him a new dressing gown for Christmas to replace that moth-eaten one! :-)

just another richard No one would ever accuse Charles of being a mental heavyweight, neither would it occur to anyone that Charles has 'gravitas'. He is simply a poor, pathetic wretch, playing far out of his league....and a real lightweight at that. He is an embarassment to Britain and to the Crown and a special embarassment to his Mother, who has been and continues to be such a noble and competent and exemplary and elegant queen.
