Muslims want to control our media to energize Islamic propaganda machine
ARAB NEWS: JEDDAH, 14 September 2006 — Muslim businessmen should buy into global media outlets to help change anti-Muslim attitudes around the world, said information ministers from Muslim countries at a conference that began at Jeddah Conference Palace yesterday.

Information ministers and officials meeting under the umbrella of the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said Islam faced vilification after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. 'Muslims Need to Be Media Savvy'

I'm so glad you're back commenting here, Mussolini. I always like to read your comments. I was afraid you had been put off because I have switched on 'comment moderation'.

I did that, even though it went against the grain, because I was having a problem with abusive comments by Muslim(s).

As I am sure you understand, I dislike ad hominem attacks from anyone, either on me or my visitors.

I agree with you: I, too, think Islam is winning this 'war'. If they take over the media outlets, too, then we're sunk! That's why this war is so badly waged against Islamic forces. The war has been badly prosecuted right from the start. America, and the rest of the West, should have been placed on a proper war footing. That way all this nonsense could have been avoided.

We are trying to wage this war with no inconvenience to the people. It's not going to work!

You mean they aren't satisfied with the lack of scrutiny they enjoy now.

I will alert my nephew who adds links to add one. I am running a spoof link on the misadventures of Beakerambo.

It seems like it, doesn't it?

Thanks, Beakerkin. I'm not sure I understand the Beakerambo thing. Please elucidate.

I'm not so sure Mark. For all the bleeding hearts in the liberal media, the negative message is getting out. It is Islamic acctions and not words that are having the negative impact on Western society. Should the advocates of Islam corner the market on the distribution of news, I think you will see more people turn away from it as a source of information. No, to me the greatest danger lies with our ruling elites and as to whether they will finally see the danger before it is too late and thereby stop enabling muslims within the west; either that or we will simply have to have a civil war to dislodge them from power. I think that a far greater number of people are aware and uneasy about Islam to start with, the cat is already out of the bag, the only problem is that political correctness has led to confusion and a timid approach to putting one's head above the parappet. It is a funny thing about societies, that they react slowly to events, until all of a sudden something comes along to refocus the prevailing concensus. I don't know what is required to do that, probably leadership, which of course we don't have. With the media playing interference for our enemies, they now hold an advantage, but that can be swept away overnight if the mood of the puplic swings into an antagonistic direction, which it most certainly will if the Islamic nuts keep up with there agenda. The only real danger I see, is if Iran does get the bomb, and that fruitcup in the well starts to ramp up the export of terrorist acts, believing that he is now invincible, and then the cost of dealing with the problem becomes exponential, or more succinctly - BLOODY.

Half our problem is that many people are in denial as to the danger which confronts us, not just as an avoidance of fear, but also because to admit to the truth of this danger would be to question their most deeply held convictions as to the brotherhood of man; they simply long to hold on to their virtue, it is all that they have.

Ask youself this, how many people that you know, have the real moral courage to undertake a genuine examination of the self, to really question who and what they are; most would avoid the issue like the plague; far, far too many people have an extremely shallow veneer of their own worth, which is very brittle to start with, it is glued together with pieties formulated by the priesthood of the prevailing Idols of the Age. Nothing about their perceptions of reality comes directly from them, for they have nothing of themselves to give, it was/is all put there for them by those that know best, those whose life's mission is to control others. Yes Mark, that's Gramsci again, though with numerous allies giving assistance. Was it not Socrates (or maybe Plato), who said that the unexamined life was not worth having been lived. There is a greater truth in that statement than I think even Socrates understood. The road to freedom is only to be found through the inner soul, no worldly utopia of any description will ever deliver us to anything other than bloodshed, pain and tears. History can repeat itself a thousand times and the result will always be the same. If man is to evolve, he must look to himself, and to thine own self be true.

How profound, JAR! Thank you for this.

I disagree with you on the importance of keeping the media free of Muslim control though. He who controls the media controls the thoughts of the people! That will be a very, very dangerous escalation of events.

JAR,. Great comment, keep it coming.
I agree we must not worry unduly.
Can you imagine Rupert Murdoch fannying around with such "investors" trying to alter his own spin?
I think there are enough media mavericks to hold the dam back on this one. I hope so!
The internet is of course the place that would be in peril should these types try to get into major search engines etc.
But look, How many anti-jihadist blogs are there?
Hundreds! All these folk could get together and finance their own servers, should serious disruption become a reality.
I agree with Mark that it is a worry and needs to be watched.
I think the existig Islamic web-sites are the biggest turn-off we could hope for.
I cannot see people queing round the blog to read what is the same message repeated over and over.
There is only one story for them to tell.
That equates to boring, and in todays world boredom equals "no takers."

Welcome, Barry!

Unfortunately, there are plenty of takers. That's the problem! Westerners are converting to Islam in increasing numbers. Women, in particular, sick of being viewed as sex objects, seem to be very vulnerable. We cannot afford to be nonchalant about these developments.
