Carey gets scary when it comes to Charles' coronation!

With thanks to Always On Watch for drawing the dhimmitude of Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, and his ridiculous notions to my attention:
The coronation of the Prince of Wales must be an "interfaith" event, the former Archbishop of Canterbury has controversially claimed.

Lord Carey believes that the next coronation needs "very significant changes" so that it is "inclusive" of other religions that have spread across Britain.

His comments, which are likely to cause a rift within the Church of England, suggest that Lord Carey, the Archbishop of Canterbury for 11 years until 2002, has been won over by arguments from Prince Charles.

The prince, who will become Supreme Governor of the Church of England when he becomes king, has already said that he wants to be Defender of Faith - not Defender of the Faith - when he accedes to the throne.

Lord Carey's comments will set him and the prince against Dr Rowan Williams, the current Archbishop of Canterbury, and other senior figures in the Church of England. Dr Williams has emphasised the need for Prince Charles to defend the Church of England when he becomes king. Lord Carey has taken leave of his senses and/or renounced his Christianity; it appears as if he has totally lost his mind. Personally, as a life-long Anglican, I am appalled and offended. His Lordship and the Prince are both dhimmis and both unworthy of any significant leadership responsibilities. We can only hope and pray that that Charles NEVER ascends the throne.

Yes, I, too, am offended by Lord Carey's ideas. He is an old man now. Perhaps that explains it.

All we can hope for now is that Charles never does ascend the throne. If he does, it will be a disaster for the United Kingdom, and a disaster for Christianity here, too.

It seems to me that when anyone in the upper echelons of the Church of England opens his mouth, he makes a fool of himself. How sad!

What I'd like to know is this: Who gave these so-called leaders (both religious and political) the right to sell our civilization down the river? I don't ever recall being asked to vote on this. Is this what they call democracy? And we have the nerve to try and bring it to the Middle East!

It seems to me that we should start practising it at home first!

Mark, I can only respond with AMEN, AMEN, and again, I say AMEN!

It seems that Western civilization is doomed! It is now in the hands of weaklings. They will be overcome by the forces of darkness! Islam understands no such weakness. Fire must be fought with fire! These weaklings do not understand this concept. We are therefore doomed to the dustbin of history. Enlightenment will be overcome by benightedness. The end of civilization as we understand it is nigh.

You're being gracious, and that's decent of you. I confess that I'm appalled by what Lord Carey is spewing forth. He's speaking of tossing British civilization down the drain.
