An Israeli firm providing the only fuel source to the Palestinians has decided to cut off supplies because of mounting Palestinian Authority (PA) debts.Mark Alexander
The Palestinian Petroleum Agency head said he expected petrol and cooking gas would run out within hours.
The PA has faced financial crisis since foreign aid was frozen after Hamas - regarded as a terrorist movement by the US and EU - won elections in January.
A plan to channel donor aid directly to the Palestinians was agreed on Tuesday.

A Palestinian fuel crisis looming. Give me a break. Aren't the Saudis and other Gulf-State petro-billionaires capable of throwing a few gallons their way or at least giving them a price break?
The Muslim world should also take the slack and pay for their upkeep, create jobs and industries. Perhaps they should send home the "guest workers" from, say, the Philippines and import unemployed Palestinians.
Oh, wait. Instead of using their billions for useful purpose, they indulge and wallow in luxury and spend other billions on the...spread of religion: building mosques, memorizing the Koran, employing radical clerics to keep the worshipers in line five times a day, with appropriate indoctinating sermons and lectures and the employment of thousands of jihad fighters throughout the world.
One can understand that all these expenses would leave little for the maintenance of the poor, unfortunate Palestinians. No wonder they expect the West to pay the Jizyah as the rest of their monies go to the other worthy causes.
Indeed! The West has been supporting the Palestinians for 50 years and thereby enabling their hostility towards Israel. It's about time they go and seek gainful employment elsewhere like the moderates have done long ago.
It’s time to cut the cord. However, I don’t think America or Europe can do that yet. They’ll find some way to rationalize support for Hamas either through the back door of so-called humanitarian aid or after Hamas lies about their intensions. I knew everything didn’t change after 9/11 when months later Bush said Arafat couldn’t be a terrorist because he’s a leader of his people and Blair was seeking photo-ops with the evil troll.
But this failure in political leadership reflects the failure in intellectual leadership … but don’t get me going on that!

Exactly! Where are their 'brothers in Islam' now?

Yes, and the West is stupid enough to pay it, too.

Yes, but the day of reckoning will surely come! And what will Western politicians do then?
It’s time to cut the cord.
High time, too!

They're already doing it.
But this failure in political leadership reflects the failure in intellectual leadership ...
What intellectual leadership can we expect from people who live and survive by the soundbite and spin doctors?
Bld:
Well, I guess that those were Arafat's 'personal' billions which his Christian wife (yes Christian wife!) is probably enjoying somewhere in Paris (where she lives for most of the time).
I'm sure that Arafat would not have wanted his wife to go short of the luxuries of this life, even to help the Palestinian people.
