Iran has been given 30 days to return to the negotiating table or face isolation, foreign ministers from the US and five other major powers warned.

"Iran has a choice between isolation brought about through [uranium] enrichment" or a return to talks, Germany's foreign minister said.

His comments reinforced a deadline in a statement by the UN Security Council, which urged Iran to halt enrichment. read it all here: Iran given stark nuclear choice

John McCain stated that the only thing worse than the US using its military was Iran becoming a nuclear power. I happen to agree with that

I bet they will talk ..and talk .. and talk.

From the WaPo (my emphases):

UNITED NATIONS, March 29 -- The Security Council called on Iran Wednesday to suspend its uranium enrichment program within 30 days, ending three weeks of deadlock between Western powers and Russia and China over how to pressure Tehran to prove its nuclear efforts are not aimed at making weapons.

The 15-member council unanimously adopted a nonbinding statement on Iran after the United States and five other key countries finished difficult negotiations on its wording. The statement does not commit the United Nations to action against Iran and was written to avoid language that might clearly set the stage for sanctions or subsequent military moves...

So much for decisive action.

I happen to agree with that, too.

You can bet your life on it!

Who ever expected decisive action from the UN?

The talking and talking is a stalling tactic Islam uses.

Mark said...

Yes. And the UN for inaction!

OT here...

A bit of a dust-rolling has been going on at my blog. See this.

Post a caricature of MTP, and the weirdies come crawling out of the woodwork.

Frankly, I rather enjoy blaspheming the moon god's delusional prophet. LOL.

The Muslim Anum claims that her husband works as a tranlator for the U.S. government. She also states her adherence to shari'ah law.

PS: Apologies to Mark for this off-topic comment.

Always On Watch said...

Addendum: Anum stated her preference for shari'ah law at another blogger's site.

Well said, Mussolini, well said!

Mussolini is back!

Mark said...

Yes, and a BIG welcome to him! He has been sorely missed.

By the way, did you enjoy my comments to Anum Mahktar on your weblog, Always On Watch?

Don't they all?

Iran claims 'invisible' missile launch

This is insane, is it fear mongering or real?

Notice how they don't talk? They declare.

That's a good observation. Come to think of it, you're right.

WHIDFYT?:

Unfortunately, the link you provided doesn't work. But how can there be an 'invisible' missile launch? What? Have the Iranians got invisible metal? The Persians are clever people, but they are not that clever. Believe me! :-)

Mark,

WHIDFYT is fine as a name,

Its weird here this morning on DFL was this, http://democracyfrontline.org/blog/?p=465#comments

it might be an april fools joke from iran if they know what a calander is.

sure freaks/freaked me out tho.

WHIDFYT?:

Thanks for that link. I checked out the story in the Irish link on that site too. It reaks of a hoax to me.

If they really developed such a weapon, I feel sure that that would hit the press BIG TIME. It wouldn't just seep out at the margins like that.

Further, were that ever to come true, the Americans would would disable such a capacity for them.

They're not going to be allowed to get ahead of the Americans. Be sure of that!

Yes Mark,

Sure hope that Iranian earthquake yesterday wasn't a "secret lil test", but just another love note from Allah Islam style.

I'm sure your right!!!!

Iran just scares me so much sometimes.

I'm kinda ready for anything... anyday lately.

Have you ever thought that Allah sends the Iranians, and other Muslims, an awful lot of "love notes"?

Considering the fact that Muslims are supposed to be Allah's chosen people, they certainly get more than their fair share of natural disasters in the Islamic world.

If this is what you get for being in Allah's favour, then I'm sure glad that I'm out of it! Such pay-back for being so obedient to him!

Feeling as you do is quite understandable. Perhaps you should start thinking about building that fall-out shelter after all! :-)

Yes Allah's a confused god hey, he forgot to kill the Aussies in our recent big storms, maybe deaths a sick kind incentive for islam.

Yes Allah's a confused god ...

He certainly seems to be.

I have just tracked you down to the World War III blog. I presume that's yours. Am I right? If so, we ought to exchange links. How about it?
