Curiouser and curiouser!

The Telegraph today tells us that, according to Ayman al-Zawahri, Osama bin Laden is still alive and leading a holy war against the West. But I thought we were merely fighting a war against terror!

It's a strange, curious kind of a war, isn't it, when the two sides that are at war define the war so totally differently? Indeed, it's very curious!

I tell you what is also very curious, and, as time passes, is getting curiouser and curiouser: That nobody has been able to find OBL. Now that really is curious!

Do you mean to tell me that if all the stops were pulled out, as we are assured they have been, that Osama bin Laden could not be found? What is also very curious is that President Bush and his political brother this side of the Atlantic never seem to mention his name anymore. It's enough to make one wonder whether they are doing this to please their Saudi oil masters: the kings, the princes, the princelings, and sheikhs of the oil-rich desert sands! Has some kind of accommodation been reached, I wonder?

Don't tell me that nobody in Saudi Arabia knows where he is! Family ties there in Saudi are very, very strong. There's no way that OBL isn't contacting his mother, or brothers, or sisters. Of course he is. So why aren't our so-called friends, the al-Sauds, making them spill the beans?

With technology as advanced as it is today, and with all the secret service agencies at the governments' disposal, it seems very curious to me that he has not yet been found. Moreover, the more time that passes, the curiouser the whole thing is becoming!

The lies need to stop. The truth needs to be shouted from the rooftops and damn the politically correct muzzles that hamper the trumpet.

How true these words are! Beautifully stated!

Osama bin Laden is a symbolic leader. The true leadership of the Jihad sit in the shadows or in the palaces of the Muslim world. Their names are not available for public consumption. Ironically, everytime we dispense gasoline for our cars, heat our homes, or flip the switch for electric power, most likely we are financing their Jihad against us.

Western leaders are afraid of their constituencies, afraid of losing votes or to be labeled "bigoted, racist, or intolerant." And in light of the reaction to "insults to" or "disrespect toward" Islam, they are afraid of inspiring the type of violence that was seen when Muslim are aroused: riots, looting, and murder and mayhem over things that we in the West consider to be trivial or not worthy of such a reaction.

Respect and dignity are said to flow in both directions. For Islam, this concept is filed in same drawer with the "Golden Rule" and telling the truth to infidels. The Golden Rule has no meaning for Muslims, telling the truth is conditional or furthering the goals of Islam, and respect for infidels, lesser beings for Msulims, is laughable.

The Jihad began centuries before our appearance on the earth and will continue as long as a Islam continues to be a seed in the mind of man. We will continue to be their victims until we demand that our leaders identify the wiles of the enemy in all forms, until we stand up and push back and demand respect.

Indeed curious that OBL is still able to secrete himself. A tall, skinny Arab with need for dialysis, and he can't be found?

How long has it been since we're seen or heard a "media release" from him? Some of my students were commenting on this silence just the other day.
