Muslim Woman Banned From Roller-skating Rink Because She Was Wearing A Headscarf
MAIL ONLINE: A Muslim woman was banned from entering a roller-skating rink because her headscarf breached the ‘no hoods’ rule.

Marisol Rodriguez-Colon, 40, was ‘mortified’ when she turned up to the Ron-A-Roll rink in Vernon, Connecticut only to be refused entry.

When she asked why, security staff referred her to the venue’s rules which were posted at the entrance and read: ‘No Hats. No Headwear. No Exceptions.’

Mrs Colon and her female friend, who also wore a headscarf, were told they could either taken off the hijab - or wear a helmet over the top of it.

The pair refused and left in disgust, missing the birthday party for Mrs Colon’s niece which was taking place inside.

Muslim Woman Dies as Hijab Is Caught in Go-kart Axle
THE TELEGRAPH: An Australian woman has died after the Islamic head dress that she was wearing was caught in the axle of a go-kart during a family outing to a racing track.

The woman, 26, suffered severe neck injuries and went into cardiac arrest after her hijab, which covers the head and neck, became stuck in the kart's machinery while she was driving at high speed.

Paramedics managed to revive the woman after material from the hijab tightened around her throat and she was airlifted to hospital, where she later died.

Local media reports said that her husband and children were at the track at the time.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident, which took place at the Port Stephens Go-Kart track on the New South Wales midcoast, and have seized the go-kart for forensic examination.

Detective Inspector Peter Fox of Port Stephens local area command told Fairfax news websites that the longer part of the scarf was wedged down near one of the go-kart's wheel axles.

"[It appears] the scarf was pulled across her throat ... from one side of the body to the other side," he said.

Police said the woman and her family had been holidaying in Port Stephens, a popular coastal town, prior to the accident.

'Racist' School Bus Drivers 'Refusing to Stop for Young Muslim Girls Who Are Wearing the Hijab'
MAIL ONLINE: School bus drivers have been accused of racism after failing to stop for pupils wearing Muslim hijabs.

Young girls have claimed they are being bullied on board for dressing in the traditional veil which covers the head.

To avoid trouble, ‘cowardly’ drivers are allegedly ignoring pupils who wait at bus stops wearing the headscarf.

Following a police investigation, officers will now be drafted on to board the buses to protect the students from ‘racist’ taunts of other passengers.

The problems centre on Merseytravel and pupils attending West Derby's Holly Lodge Girls' College in Merseyside, where 10 per cent of the 11,274 11 to 18-year-old students are from ethnic minorities.

Iran Bans Curves: Police Order Shop Owners to Cover Mannequins Up
MAIL ONLINE: Often the sight of how well a piece of clothing fits on a mannequin can make a fashionista's mind up.

Not so in Iran, where police have banned any exposed body curves in shop windows.

Authorities warned shopkeepers yesterday that all mannequins must be covered up - wearing headscarves and hiding any of the body's curves that may be showing.

They have also banned the selling of women's underwear by men.

'Using unusual mannequins exposing the body curves and with the heads without Hijabs (Muslim veil) [sic] are prohibited to be used in the shops,' Iran's moral security police in charge of Islamic dress codes said in a statement carried by state news agency IRNA.

Iranian police have stepped up a crackdown on both women and men, boutiques and small companies which fail to enforce strict religious dress codes since President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came to office in 2005.

MAIL ONLINE: Women police officers are being issued with headscarves to wear when they visit a mosque.

They are expected to put the scarfs [sic] on shortly before they enter the mosque, in keeping with Islamic custom.

There are two versions - one matches the black of a police officer's uniform, while another goes with the blue uniforms worn by community support officers.

The headscarves are being given out by Avon and Somerset Police, and have the force's emblem sewn on.

They have already been given to seven officers, including Assistant Chief Constable Jackie Roberts, and eight community support officers who work with Muslim groups in the area.

Mrs Roberts said: 'It recognises and respects the cultural and religious practices of our communities. This is a very positive addition to the uniform and one which I'm sure will be a welcome item for many of our officers.'

The force said the scarves, which cost £13, can be used in other religious settings as a mark of respect - for instance to cover the shoulders of a non-uniformed officer in a church.

Islamic custom expects women to cover their head inside a place of worship.

During an official visit last year, the Queen wore a headscarf to tour the crypt and caverns of an historic Islamic shrine in Turkey.

Important announcement: Burqas will now be mandatory for all women, hijabs will no longer be adequate. Our sisters in Islam are warned that showing any hair in public is a very serious offence, punishable by a beating.

The new, ‘practical’, uniform for Muslim women for the fire service! It is redolent of the Victorian era. What did Emmeline (aka Emily) Pankhurst fight for? Of course, as you would expect, another act of dhimmitude from the craven British authorities.
MAIL Online: Pop into the firestation and the chances are there'd be a group of reassuringly burly men in there waiting for the call out, with uniforms and firefighting suits tailored for their use alone.

The one or two women among them would have to make do with ill-fitting adaptations of the men's outfits while the handful of Muslim women in the service would be wearing their own head scarfs.

But, with the fire service anxious to attract recruits of all sexes and backgrounds, it was decided that something had to be done.

So yesterday the results were uneveiled, including full-length skirts, hijab headscarfs and long- sleeved shirts for Muslim women recruits.

The hope is that the uniforms, designed for wearing round the station and for outings such as school trips, will be smarter and better fitting for every firefighter - even the men.

For the first time also, women will get their own mustard yellow fire-fighting suit designed to protect their breasts and upper body.

This outfit was tried on yesterday by Lincolnshire firefighter Julie Smith.

'It is right that male firefighters and female firefighters to need protection in different areas,' she said. 'It is very comfortable, very new and very yellow.'

Her boss Mike Thomas, Chief Fire Officer for Lincolnshire, declared the uniforms would help 'bust' the ' traditional image of the hunky, British, white, male, firefighter' - even though a great many of his staff probably fit this description. THE GUARDIAN: A ban on a teenage girl wearing a "purity ring" was attacked at the high court today as an "unlawful interference" with her right to express her Christian faith.

Lydia Playfoot, 16, is one of a group of Christians at the Millais school in Horsham, West Sussex, who wears the ring as a sign of her belief in abstinence from sex until marriage.
