Princess Diana Was 'Madly in Love' with Heart Surgeon Hasnat Khan
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Princess Diana was 'madly in love' with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan and considered moving to Pakistan to be with him, close friend Jemima Khan has revealed.
Diana wanted to marry the doctor, with whom she had a two-year relationship, and secretly met his family in Pakistan to discuss the possibility of a union, according to Jemima.
She is understood to have told two other friends that she wanted a daughter with the eminent surgeon.
"Diana was madly in love with Hasnat Khan and wanted to marry him," Jemima told Vanity Fair. "Even if that meant living in Pakistan, and that’s one of the reasons why we became friends.”
Jemima disclosed that Diana visited her twice in Pakistan to help fund-raise for the hospital where her former husband Imran Khan – a distant cousin of Diana's lover – worked.
"Both times she also went to meet his family secretly to discuss the possibility of marriage to Hasnat," she said. » | Alice Philipson | Wednesday, July 31, 2013

MAIL ONLINE: At the age of 13, Prince William faced the daunting prospect of becoming a new boy in a school that was almost ten times the size of his old one. That was hard enough.
What made his transition to Eton far more of an ordeal was that no one — from masters to pupils — could fail to be unaware of the open warfare that was tearing his parents’ marriage apart.
Unlike his prep school, where the head often pretended the news-papers hadn’t been delivered, multiple sets arrived on the premises daily — and William could simply no longer be shielded.
So it was doubly unfortunate that, almost immediately after his arrival, his mother’s love life was once again making lurid headlines. This time, the man in question was the England rugby captain Will Carling, whom William had met several times with Diana.
For a boy trying to handle his first weeks at a big school, it was excruciatingly hard to bear.
But there was worse to come, as his house master Andrew Gailey soon discovered. While William was still settling in, Gailey learned that the Princess of Wales was recording an interview in secret for the BBC.
Concerned for his pupil, he phoned Diana and told her it was imperative to explain to William, face-to-face, what she was intending to do.
‘Is that really necessary?’ she said. It was, he said — but she refused to come. The next day he phoned again and was even more insistent. Reluctantly, she agreed to go to the school.
In the end, the meeting between mother and son lasted no longer than five minutes. Diana told William that the programme she’d recorded would not contain anything controversial.
It would make him proud of her, she assured him. And before he had a chance to ask any questions, she left. There’s no doubt she anticipated a magnificent triumph. ‘It’s terribly moving,’ she told her private secretary, when he asked what the programme contained.
On November 20, 1995, a large proportion of the nation sat glued to their TV sets in disbelief as Diana gave the performance of her life on Panorama. » | Penny Junor | Friday, May 04, 2012

Unlawful Killing is the story of the deaths of Princess Diana, Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul: It reveals a cover-up by the British Establishment culminating in a six month inquest. Keith Allen's ground breaking documentary recreates key moments from the inquest and demonstrates how vital evidence of foul play was hidden from public scrutiny, how the Royal Family were exempted from giving evidence and how journalists, particularly those working for the BBC, systematically misreported the events and in particular, the verdict itself. This is the story of how the world was deceived. »

THE DAILY TELEGRAPH: Given that its entire £2.5 million budget was paid for by Mohamed Fayed, the conclusions of a new documentary about the death of Diana, Princess of Wales were not entirely unexpected.
The film, called Unlawful Killing, asserts that the Duke of Edinburgh is a “psychopath” in the mould of Fred West, that the Princess was murdered by the Establishment and that the Queen and other members of the Royal family are “gangsters in tiaras”.
As the film was premiered at Cannes, its director, Keith Allen, tried to defend the “ludicrous” slurs on the monarchy as he was accused by the Princess’s closest friend of cashing in on her death.
Allen, best known for playing the Sheriff of Nottingham in the BBC’s Robin Hood TV series, had already upset those closest to the Princess by including a photograph of her lying fatally injured in the back of a car moments after it had crashed in Paris in 1997.
And the astonishing comments about the Royal family which are made in the film have provoked fresh contempt.
Rosa Monckton, the Princess’s best friend, said: “Why is he doing this?
“The only reason he could be doing it is to make money by appealing to the conspiracy theorists.
“I also think he’s an attention seeker.” » | Anita Singh, in Cannes and Gordon Rayner | Friday, May 13, 2011

THE TELEGRAPH: The late Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, reacted with "utter abhorrence" to Diana, Princess of Wales's decision to "wash the dirty linen in public" by disclosing details of the breakdown of her marriage.
An official biography published today describes how Queen Elizabeth was "deeply shocked" when it emerged that Princess Diana had collaborated with Andrew Morton on the book Diana: Her True Story, which caused a sensation when it was published 17 years ago.
She was also dismayed by the Prince of Wales's decision to discuss his private life with the broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby for a TV programme in which he admitted he had been unfaithful.
Queen Elizabeth revealed her thoughts about her grandson's divorce in a series of previously unpublished interviews with Sir Eric Anderson, the former Provost of Eton College, which were made available to the biographer William Shawcross.
"It is always a mistake to talk about your marriage," she told Mr Anderson, who spent a total of 20 hours interviewing her.
Details of Queen Elizabeth's thoughts on the Royal divorce are contained in Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother: The Official Biography, which was commissioned by the Queen.
In 1992, Andrew Morton's book disclosed that the Princess of Wales had attempted suicide on at least five occasions in the 1980s, suffered from bulimia and felt rejected both by Prince Charles and other members of the Royal family, including the Queen.
At the time of its publication, it was rumoured that the Princess herself had helped Mr Morton with the book, and after her death in 1997 Mr Morton confirmed that the Princess had indeed been the main source, and had even checked the proofs of the book for accuracy.
In 1995 the Princess recorded a Panorama interview in which she talked about the Prince of Wales's affair with the then Camilla Parker Bowles, saying: "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded."
Mr Shawcross notes: "(Queen Elizabeth) had been sympathetic to both the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of York over the enormous pressures they faced from the media. But the washing of dirty linen in public was utterly abhorrent to Queen Elizabeth. >>> Gordon Rayner, Chief Reporter | Thursday, September 17, 2009

THE TELEGRAPH: The death of Diana, Princess of Wales, was not an accident, according to the memoirs of lawyer Michael Mansfield who represented Mohamed Fayed at the inquest into the crash.
The 1997 accident in the Alma Tunnel in Paris still poses unanswered questions despite lengthy inquest at the High Court, he claims in his book, Memoirs of a Radical Lawyer.
The 67-year-old QC, who has represented clients in high profile cases ranging from the family of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence to the Birmingham Six, insisted the inquest had not been a waste of time and that Mr Fayed was entitled to the procedure as “a grieving father”.
In the book, which is being serialised in The Times, he wrote: “I found it difficult simply to accept that what happened in the Alma Tunnel in Paris was ‘just one of those tragic things’. Of course it might have been, but then that’s what “they” always hope we will think.
“Judging whether a hidden hand is at work is always difficult, but I prefer a healthy and inquisitive assessment of the authorised version, and for me it was mere serendipity to be approached a year after the crash and asked to represent Mohamed Al Fayed for the purposes of an inquest.” >>> Alastair Jamieson | Wednesday, September 02, 2009

THE TELEGRAPH: Mohamed Fayed has accused the Duke of Edinburgh of being a "Nazi" and a "racist" who ordered MI6 to assassinate Diana, Princess of Wales because she was pregnant with a Muslim baby.
In a series of extraordinary allegations at the inquest into the Princess's death, Mr Fayed also accused her former husband, the Prince of Wales, of plotting her "murder" so he could marry his new "crocodile wife" Camilla Parker Bowles.
He said the Royal Family were a "Dracula family" who had murdered the Princess the moment she had found happiness and even implicated Tony Blair, the former prime minister, in the plot.
The Harrods owner told the High Court hearing in London that he had fought a 10-year battle against a vast conspiracy encompassing both the British and French establishments as he tried to prove that the Princess and his son Dodi were killed by MI6, on the orders of the Duke, in a staged car crash in Paris on Aug 31, 1997.
The alleged conspiracy and cover-up included senior royals; MI6; two former Scotland Yard commissioners; French police and medics; the Princess's sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and several of her close friends, he claimed.
At the centre of Mr Fayed's case was a claim that his son and the Princess telephoned him an hour before the accident to say they were expecting a baby and would announce their engagement after she had told her sons.
Mr Fayed said: "I'm the only person that they told. Princess Diana told me before and during the holiday we shared in July 1997 of her fears. She told me that she knew Prince Philip and Prince Charles were trying to get rid of her."
He went on: "Prince Philip would not accept my son or anyone who is a person of different religion, naturally-tanned, curly hair. They would not accept that he would have anything to do with the future King.
"Prince Philip rules the country behind the scenes. I think Prince Philip is the actual head of the Royal Family. He is a racist. He was brought up by his aunt who married one of Hitler's generals.
"This is the man who is in charge, who is manipulating and can do anything. It's time to send him back to Germany from where he comes. You want to know his original name - it ends in Frankenstein." Mohamed Fayed’s fury at ‘Nazi’ Prince Philip >>> By Nick Allen

It is understood that at one point the Princess was so smitten with Dr Khan that she contemplated converting to Islam so they could marry.
THE TELEGRAPH: His hair is greyer and his features are more rounded but Dr Hasnat Khan's affection for Diana, Princess of Wales, remains undiminished by the passing of more than a decade.
The heart surgeon the late Princess described as "Mr Wonderful" is sitting on a sea-green sofa at his home in Pakistan.
Dressed in a white shirt, faded jeans and trainers, he fondly recalls the woman he shared an intimate relationship with until just months before her death.
To Dr Khan, Diana was first and foremost a warm, generous woman who just happened to be a princess.
"I found her a very normal person with great qualities," he says, choosing his words with immense care.
"I think she did great work all over the world not just for the UK but for everyone. That is very important."
After meeting at the Royal Brompton Hospital, where the Princess was visiting a friend who was recovering from heart surgery, they pursued a discreet, two-year affair that finished in the early summer of 1997. Dr Hasnat Khan: Princess Diana and me >>> By Massoud Ansari in Jehlum and Andrew Alderson

DAILY MAIL: Princess Diana's mother called her a whore for dating Muslim men, a court heard this afternoon.
Paul Burrell, Diana's former butler, said he overheard a conversation between Frances Shand Kydd and Diana six months before the Princess died in which they had a foul-mouthed bust-up.
He told the inquest into Diana's death: "She called the Princess a whore."
"She said she was messing around with effing Muslim men and she was disgraceful and she said other nasty things."
After the conversation, the Princess vowed never to speak to her mother again, Mr Burrell said. Diana's mother 'called her a whore for sleeping with Muslim men' >>>

The “official” letter, obtained by the Daily Express, was written by the French surgeon who carried out the post-mortem on the Princess hours after she was killed in a Paris car crash 10 years ago.
It forms the focus of a new book by top French investigative journalist Chris Lafaille and is certain to provoke renewed debate on the royal pregnancy mystery.
Lafaille, a former editor-in-chief of respected weekly magazine Paris Match, said he uncovered the document after scouring archives of the Pitie-Saltpetriere Hospital where the dying Princess was taken on the night of August 31.
The document – saying she was nine to 10 weeks preganant – was sent to three senior French figures, the then minister of the interior Jean-Pierre Chevenement, with copies to health minister Bernard Kouchner, foreign affairs minister Hubert Vedrine and Paris police chief Martine Monteil. Lafaille makes the astonishing claims in a new book called Diana, The Inquiry They Never Published. The revelations could strengthen widespread fears of an official cover-up over Diana’s death, helping to explain why the Princess was illegally embalmed so quickly after the crash. NEWS.COM.AU: A FRENCH investigative journalist has made the claim Princess Diana was nine weeks pregnant when she died, which is set to inflame the inquest into her death expected to begin in October.
The claims by French investigator Chris Laffaille appears to lend gentle support to long-standing claims by Mohamed Al Fayed that Diana was pregnant at the time of her death and murdered by the British establishment because the royal family could not bear to have the mother of the future king married to a Muslim.
His son Dodi was dating Diana, 36, at the time of her death.
But in a dramatic twist, if Laffaille's claim is true then Dodi Fayed could not have been the father - he had not met Diana nine weeks before their death.
She was dating London doctor Hasnat Khan at the time.
Laffaille said he uncovered evidence of a pregnancy from official archives at the Paris hospital where she was taken on the night of her fatal crash on August 31, 1997.
He claimed the letter has remained hidden for 10 years because of "ethical and privacy" concerns.
He has written a book on his findings, which some dismissed as a blatant attempt to cash in on the 10th anniversary of her death.
"It is a near certainty that Diana was nine to 10 weeks pregnant at the time she died, according to papers from the Paris Public Hospitals archives," he said. [Source: Diana ‘nine weeks pregnant’ says journo]
