The Rise of Theresa May


Theresa May is set to succeed David Cameron to become the 76th British prime minister. She was elected to parliament in 1997 and became home secretary in 2010. She has a reputation in Westminster as a hard negotiator and a ‘bloody tough woman’. As chair of the Conservative party she caused controversy by warning her colleagues that they are seen as the ‘nasty party’
