Bill O'Reilly, bloviating and "Looking out for you!"
Bill, it's time to step up to the plate! Having watched your programme over the past few nights, I have noticed that you haven't mentioned a thing abot the furore raging in Europe over the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.
Denmark is fighting for its life to preserve the West's freedom of thought and freedom to express those thoughts. You are keeping the American public woefully ignorant of the battle that's going on in the rest of the West. How parochial can one get? Would this have something to do with the fact that a Saudi has bought a significant share in Fox News?
When are you going to start bloviating about really looking out for the American people? Indeed, when are you going to start blovaiting about looking out for free people everywhere?

Mark, this is not a surprise. I don't believe you were actively posting when Robert Spencer's book 'The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades' was published. It was one of the best sellers on Islam in 2005 but Bill never, ever had Robert Spencer on.
He is still stuck in that 'tiny minority, hijacked' mentality. He may change but he is definitely not in the front.
John:
I have noticed he doesn't seem to like to talk a great deal about Islam and our problems with it. I am therefore not surprised that he didn't get Robert Spencer onto the programme. That was Bill O'Reilly's loss, of course.
Not mentioning anything about this hullabaloo over the caricatures of Muhammad must surely have something to do with the fact that that Saudi - Was it Al-Waleed? - bought about 10% of the shares of Fox News.
This is happening increasingly here in the West, and what we will find happening is precisely what has happened in France with the editor, Jacques Lefranc, of France Soir. He has been unceremoniously dumped for not toeing the line.
I have to ask myself the queston: Is Bill O'Reilly, or his team, simply afraid of fall-out?
The free West is suddenly beginning to look a little less free!
Bill should deliberately test his ability to discuss the Islamic threat by having critics like Spencer even if O'Reilly is of the view that it is only a few who hijacked Islam. Spencer writes for the august conservative journal, Human Events. And Bill knows Joseph Farah who hasn’t shied away from the jihadist threat. Indeed, O’Reilly writes for Farah’s World Net Daily. There’s no way O’Reilly couldn’t be aware that many of us see Islam itself as the threat. And O’Reilly often has people on whom he disagrees with. So why not air such a view as ours? This makes me wonder if he really is feeling the pressure.
Let’s remember how big a fuss the left makes of the fact that the Washington Times is owned by the Christian preacher form Korea. I’ve found no bias against those who aren’t religious and I’ve even seen profiles of writers who are conservative in politics yet personally non-religious.
As the awareness grows, some newspapers will take on the issue. People who are ignorant about Islam and unaware of the growing movement to expose this ideology will want to know about us … and the media will start to take notice because they want to make money. Of course, it wound be an even-handed story at first. But many people will be curious and pick up a book. Right now they can’t differentiate between an apologist (like Armstrong) and a critic. Although, Spencer’s recent title, “Politically Incorrect” gave many a clue.
How did you get your book published?
Jason:
This makes me wonder if he really is feeling the pressure.
Something is certainly going on there.
I do hope your assessment is right, then it is certainly encouraging!
My book was published in the States. The British, I think, would have been rather too timid to take it on.
Mussolini:
Your assessment is very, very interesting. I had never thought of him quite in that light before.
I still think that the buy-up of 10% of the shares by a Saudi has something to do with it, though. There's more to this than meets the eye!
As far as I can tell, O'Reilly is avoiding the issue of Islam. I know that he has an aversion of the blogosphere, but I also think that the Saudi Prince's investment in FNC has something to do with O'Reilly's avoiding the most important question facing the world today.
AlwaysOnWatch:
I agree with you - wholeheartedly!
John:
I was heartened to see that Bill O'Reilly has at last started tackling the issue of the Mo cartoons. I watched him last night. Did you? He's going to continue on this theme tonight, I believe.
AlwaysOnWatch:
At last, O'Reilly has started tackling the issue. He's going to continue with the theme tonight, too.
