On the BBC website today, this video clip is showing in which the British Home Secretary, John Reid, talks of a "persistent and very real" threat of terrorism to Europe. He goes on to say that a group of people have subverted a religion whose very name, Islam, means "PEACE". I say, NO, Mr Reid. Please do your homework before making such pronouncements. ISLAM means SUBMISSION. 'Salaam' means peace, not 'Islam'; the root of the word (salama, or more correctly 'slm') may be the same, but the meaning is very different.
Islam means 'submission', submission to what Muslims consider to be the one true god, Allah, and to their prophet, the prophet Muhammad. That's what Islam means. And please don't think that Islam has been subverted. What we are witnessing today is the practice of Jihad, an cornerstone of Islam which has been there since Islam's inception. Jihad, of course, as all well-informed men and women know, is the instrument used by all good Muslims to terrorize the world into submission to the Islamic way of life. It is the instrument to Islamize the world. Please watch this VIDEO and see what you think.

Mark, isn't it appalling at the ignorance our leaders have of Islam. 5 frigging years of nonstop terror, and yet, just won't crack open that Quran, or one of the hundreds of books critical of Islam. Nope, will not do it. Read some 'hate' book about Islam. No way. Absolutely not.

I think that asshole azhar scholars are just amazed. Just think what they say, 'I can't believe. Bless Allah. We openly attack the West in your name, we are raising millions of warriors inside dar al harb, we openly hold up signs in their capitals announcing their doom, we have used the West's insistence that we are all the same, they have even given us preference and special benefits, we are bleeding Europe dry and the infidels are dying out and they, get this, keep on saying Islam is a religion of peace! Is that not the greatest miracle from Mo. Truly, my brothers, the infidels are doomed.'

Maybe when France is an Islamic state it will forge a new history.
The truth is that in the new future economy America is far more tied to Canada, China, India, Mexico and Brazil then old Europe.
France seems to grow louder as its relevance wanes.

Yes, it is indeed appalling that our leaders are so ignorant, if this is actually the case. Though sometimes I think they are trying to pull the wool over an unsuspecting public's eyes. Is it perhaps the case that they simply do not want to tell people the truth. You see, were they to do so, then they would be faced with some pretty tough choices; and I doubt that they have the necessary courage to take the tough action that would be necessary thereafter.
So are they, perhaps, then hiding behind political correctness and multiculturalism? It keeps them safe in the short-term, doesn't it?
