Fourteen ninety-two was the best of years, the worst of years for Europe. Colombus set sail for the Americas to link the two land masses on either side of the Atlantic. The Americas remain essentially a European construct with the United States, in particular, returning to save the old continent from its follies twice last century and again being called in to restore order in the Balkans after the failure of Europe's will in the early 1990s.Mark Alexander
But 1492 was also Europe's darkest hour, when the Spanish royal house expelled the Jews and Muslims from mainstream Europe. They did so in the name of faith, but the victory of their religious fundamentalism was short-lived. Twenty-five years later, Martin Luther nailed his theses to a cathedral door and launched Europe into more than a century of religious wars. Europe must embrace Islam too

What can one say, we are after all dealing with a superior being; I mean, they don't come any more virtuous than a socialist bigwig politician, complete with his own virtuous perspective on history. Who's to know if it's all bunk, there are so many versions of history out there now since Karl Marx became the new Abraham, the founder of the new religion of the Holy Secular; keep the faith brothers and sisters, keep the faith...Oopps, sorry, comrades and comradettes!
I do wonder though, does this high priest of sainted secularism think that once the Islamic hordes have done the dirty work of destroying society, that he and his associates will be able to turn their high brow disdain upon Allah's minnions and whip them into line, or will he simply convert at the appropriate time? After all, we can't have Denis removed from his comfortable position as one of the head hot shots of the new priesthood now, can we? Think of all that virtue going to waste.
There is something truly disgusting watching a turd of moral turpitude, sailing serenely downstream, all the while waving the flag of virtue, selfrighteousness, and smug faux compassion. Though, with any luck they will all get swept out to sea one day soon.
One day, when it dawns on the people that they have all been placed upon the alter of human sacrifice for nothing more than to annoint the moral pieties of the chosen (according to Marx), there will come a reckoning for these snakes. I just hope America is not foolish enough to listen to their plaintive wails and give them safe haven, for like many snakes, they come laiden with venum and they are not too particular who they bite.
Hey Mark, what's with your blog turning some words into links, though in this case, I do think there is some sublime hand at work, for if you follow the link formed by "moral turpitude" you end up at some Law firm...how appropriate. I assume it forms the same link for everyone on this comment section.

You're joking, of course?!
Actually Mark, in the third paragraph the words "moral turpitude" have been turned into a link, at least on my screen; (highlighted in blue and underlined), the link leads to a web site for some Law Firm. I did not put a link there, simply those two words in combination. So, whatzup wid dat?
As to my sentiment on lawyers, yes well, not my favourite people, for as Sir Thomas Moore said of them..."they are of a people whose profession it is to disguise matters", sums them up pretty good I'd say.

You must have the gremlins in your computer! The words "moral turpitude" HAVE NOT BEEN TURNED INTO A LINK on my computer; so I really can't follow you. I'm very sorry.
I wonder if anyone else is having this problem?
Ah yes, the gremlins; well it could be just me I guess, then again, they really are only a minor irritant, could be worse, I could be afflicted with that roaring dragon of righteous indignation, his honor the Lord Mayor of Londonistan; more like Marxist pimp, if truth be told. Now there is a real scourge for you. I'm still trying to figure out just how there could be that many foolish people in one place to elect such a clown. Just goes to prove professor Cipola's point in his "Theory of Human Stupidity"; either that, or there are more commited Marxist's running around that once fair city, than we were lead to believe....bummer!
