Bush vindicated
WASHINGTON -- Prevention of the plan to destroy 10 jetliners bound for America has sharply boosted President Bush's approval scores for his handling of the war on terrorism and homeland security. U.K. terror plot vindicates Bush by Donald Lambro

Lambro's article is extremely misleading. First, he claims that the plot helped Bush by pushing approval of his handling of terrorism up 11%. But his overall approval increased only 3% - statistically, this is no change, since it falls within the margin of error.

He gets even farther out when he claims that it proves the PATRIOT Act, warrentless wiretapping, and financial tracking works. The UK busted this plot, not Bush. None of these 'tools' were used so, obviously, none of them were necessary.

I take the article apart here. It wasn't very hard to do.
