I wonder how many of these demonstrators were arrested and charged after this demonstration? Is it really a strength of the West that we allow such demonstrations? Or should we, perhaps, start seeing this extreme tolerance as a weakness?

The problem the West might run into in suppression of such protests, is the suppression of those who speak out against Islam.
I was listening to a John Hagee program on Sunday morn. As you would expect he said there is only one path to "Heaven." Hagee went on to explain what paths will not get one to Heaven. The Mohammed path was one that he mentioned as illegitimate. Of course Hagee did not preach death and destruction on other religions for not agreeing with him. I suspect that point would be lost in a free speech spat with Mohammedans.
Mark, Thank you so much for sharing this enlightening film clip. It is a clear demonstration of how peaceful Islam is and how calm, rational, intelligent and literate its followers are. How uplifting to see them demonstrate. One cannot help but be impressed by how peaceful and loving Islam is. Imagine that, these Muslims are calling for tolerance and understanding as it is plain to see. In summary, it is clearly obvious by the words and demeanor of these peaceful folk that they embrace a peaceful and loving religion.
YEAH RIGHT! And if you believe that, I have a bridge in the desert (in the Middle East, of course) to sell you...
In the streets of Europe--calls for hate and murder! Why aren't these actions prosecutable?
Watching this video is nothing short of shocking and a lot more powerful than the still photos.
