Blair praises the Qur'an

I first came across this item on Robert Spencer's excellent website, Dhimmi Watch this morning. The original article is to be found here: The Qur'an "is practical and way ahead of its time".

The item is not for the weak of stomach!

"The most remarkable thing about reading the Koran – in so far as it can be truly translated from the original Arabic - is to understand how progressive it is ... I speak with great diffidence and humility as a member of another faith. I am not qualified to make any judgements. But as an outsider, the Koran strikes me as a reforming book, trying to return Judaism and Christianity to their origins, ..."

Really, Tony? Is this why apostates like Abdul Rahman have to be put to death under Islamic, or Shariah, law? Is this what you call progressive? Is this what you call 'being ahead of its time'?

This is utterly absurd. Tony Blair has gone "stark, raving mad" and should be removed from his position at once!

On further reflection, this wacko statement leads to the conclusion that Tony Blair must be "on the take" big time. No sane, educated human being would make such an absurd statement otherwise...

Does this stupid man not realize the Islam is the enemy of democracy and freedom, and of Christianity and Judaism as well? It always has been, and always will be.

Islam is anti-Semitic, anti-democracy, anti-liberty, anti-gay, anti-feminism; in fact, it is anti- everything which the free world has generally come to stand for. It is a totalitarian political ideology all wrapped up in a deity!

In a word, this is TREASONOUS!

Blair makes me feel ASHAMED to be British!

What a friggin' idiot.

Ok, now I officially agree with anyone who says Blair is stupid.

I've never been so bothered by the "religion of peace" mantra, because I have always thought of it as being a two-fold critique of Islam;;

1) first, it is ironic, and, as such, it mocks Islam

2) it is a Lincolesqe way of encouraging those on the other side to be better people.

Or, at least that's the way I see it.

However, this statement by Tony Blair serves absolutely no strategic importance. Basically, he just told muslims, "Ok, go ahead and lie to me. I will act like I believe anything, because you intimidate the hell out of me."

What do you Brits call it? No confidence? Time for this one to go.

What the hell was Tony Blair thinking? The height of Islamic discovery ended in the 12th century. The last thing the Koran is would be described as "progressive". Enslaving woman, promoting child abuse, forced submission and a totalitarian policy is hardly what I would call progressive. Great post. I saw the name of your blog and needed to check it out. Glad I did.

I actually quite liked Blair when he first came on the scene even though I'm more conservation/libertarian in my views. I haven't been following British politics lately so not too sure what he's up to here. Any ideas what's driving this Mark? What's the point of this? Or is there a point?, other than the pursuit of power at any cost? This speech really is unbelievable.

Tony Blair:

I am going to break the habit of a lifetime and say: You're full of s***!

In days gone by, I used to think that Tony and his naive buddy, Jack Straw were just plain morons. Upon listening to them, I have been made to reflect upon this once again. For to be classified as a moron, one needs to have an IQ of at least 50, and it is now abundantly obvious that neither Blair nor Straw come up to that level. This means that they are sub-morons, or just plain idiots!

Is there another source for these statements other than the Muslim Weekly?

I think this is the same newspaper which lied about a supposed apology (for the Mohammed cartoons) to Muslims from the Prime Minister of Denmark.

I can't believe Blair said such cr*p--Prince Charles, yes, Blair--I sure hope not.

I share your dismay. It is cr*p. But he said it! Be sure of that! I have no other source. But I don't need another one. The man is a buffoon!

This is the quality of our leaders. That goes for Blair and Bush! They are cr*p!

I am having a good laugh at Paul Sperry's Ifiltration. Islamic PC myth number eight is funny . A few idiotic scholars contend that the familiar 72 virgins bit means rasins. How do these idiots end up teaching in Univrsities ?

Maybe these dolts think we can buy Bin Ladden with some dried fruit ?
Prunes for Osama will be the next cry from the far left.

You've been cutting him too much slack, I fear.

I've never been so bothered by the "religion of peace" mantra, ...

I have. Because it helps Muslims to propagate the myth they wish to propagate. In effect, by chanting it, we are helping them.

In any case, it is so blatantly false to anyone in the know; but there are far too many that aren't in the know. They need to be dragged, kicking and screaming, out of their ignorance, not protected from the harsh realities.

I say this: If a politician can't say the truth about Islam for political reasons, then he shouldn't say anything at all.

"Ok, go ahead and lie to me. I will act like I believe anything, because you intimidate the hell out of me."

Aren't they all so timid of Islam and Muslims?

What do you Brits call it? No confidence?

Yes, and it's time they moved a motion of no confidence in this sucker!

But sadly Tony bought that hook and liner, thus his little 'as far as Arabic can be correctly tranlated' nonsense that some taqiyyamaster told him.

Hasn't he, though? I agree with you. He understands very, very little about Islam; and what he does is totally and utterly whitewashed.

These political leaders still do not see Islam as the enemy or they would not have so many taqiyyamasters advising them how to proceed.

So right! There is so much disinformation out there, even at the top. Very, very troubling, isn't it?

The ignorance of our leaders is going to get us all killed.

It's certainly going to get us all having to prostrate ourselves Makkahward!

Multiculturalism and complete lack of historical insight leaves them deaf to such 'hurtful' statements about Islam and the lying and conniving Muslims they surround themselves with.

Yes, they've infiltrated even the highest levels of government now. The future is looking bleak.

What the hell was Tony Blair thinking? Huh! You tell me, please! The man has got to be either an idiot or else don't we have to conclude that there are pecuniary reasons for this?

Gulf Arabs penetrate the corridors of power here in the United Kingdom. That's a known fact.

To say that the Koran is progressive is about as stupid as saying that a horse-drawn carriage is the latest in high-tech travel!

I didn't. I never have liked him! Far too smooth for my taste. In fact, he's so smooth, he's slippery! He's also far too self-satisfied, and full of his own importance.

I haven't been following British politics lately so not too sure what he's up to here. Any ideas what's driving this Mark?

He's pandering to the Muslims for their vote at the next election. He won't be elected, but he wants their votes for the Labour Party. Don't forget this: By going to war in Iraq to topple Saddam Hussein, he has angered and alienated the Muslim voters. The Socialist Party (Labour) was hitherto their natural home.

Further, it is not inconceivable that money is changiing hands at the top, too.

What's the point of this? Or is there a point?, other than the pursuit of power at any cost?

As stated above.

This speech really is unbelievable.

Quite unbelievable, too.

Missing Link:

This idiot has never read this shiite!

Obviously, he hasn't. He can't have read it in any depth. (Maybe he's skimmed and scanned it, but nothing deeper.) Otherwise, he couldn't have missed all that blood and thunder against th infidels.

Progressive indeed! Such bulls***!

And he wants to lead the war on terror!!!

I just wish they'd stop talking about this 'war on terror'. This war, if it is anything, should be renamed a 'war on Islam'. Terror and Islam must surely be synonymous, at least when it comes to infidels.

Outbloodyrageous!!!

I love that word as is. Isn't it so expressive!

Yep! Please see my latest blog for the full speech sourced from The Guardian.

I can't believe Blair said such cr*p--Prince Charles, yes, Blair--I sure hope not.

Well, you'd better, because it's true. It's so disappointing, isn't it?

Like Heather, I would like to see another source to back this up - it is just so unbelievable that he could say that!

Please see my latest blog.

However, it seems that you folk don't think so - ...

Nope, I never doubted it.

... but that anyone with half a brain can read what is in there and make such a comparison with the Bible (perhaps he hasn't read the Bible yet?) or read it and not see the violence, hatred, intolerance, sheer nonsense and everything else that the rest of us read in there.

He's glossing over all of it, it seems.

I am gobsmacked.

You and me both!
