Greenland Accuses US of Influence Campaign and Summons Diplomat Mark Stroh, amid Meddling Claims

Aug 28, 2025 | Denmark’s foreign minister has called in the senior U.S. envoy in Copenhagen following reports that American operatives attempted to sway political developments in Greenland. “Greenland’s strategic importance means it will always attract attention from abroad,” Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said in a statement. “It would not be surprising if we see renewed efforts by external players to try to shape the Kingdom’s future.”
