Le sénateur de Floride Randy Fine, élu conservateur dévoué et proche du mouvement MAGA, est au cœur d’une controverse après la publication d’un message sur les réseaux sociaux comparant les musulmans aux chiens. Des propos ont suscité une vague d’indignation, y compris au sein de sa propre famille politique.
L’affaire débute après un message publié sur le réseau social X par l’activiste pro-palestinienne new-yorkaise Nerdeen Kiswani. Cette dernière avait écrit, sur un ton qu’elle qualifiera ensuite d’ironique, que les chiens ne devraient pas être considérés comme des animaux de compagnie. « Enfin, New York se convertit à l’islam. Les chiens ont assurément leur place dans la société, mais pas comme animaux de compagnie à l’intérieur. « Une grande douleur » : à Naples, un impressionnant incendie ravage un théâtre historique
LE FIGARO : VIDÉO - Un incendie d’ampleur a détruit l’intégralité du théâtre napolitain Sannazaro datant du XIXe siècle.
Naples a perdu un morceau d’histoire. Un important incendie s’est déclaré aux premières lueurs du jour dans le quartier huppé de Chiaia à Naples ce mardi 17 février. D’après plusieurs médias italiens, le feu aurait commencé dans un immeuble d’habitation mais s’est rapidement propagé au théâtre voisin, datant du XIXe siècle, le Sannazaro.
L’ossature en bois de ce théâtre historique a accéléré la propagation des flammes qui ont tout détruit sur leur passage. Le toit s’est effondré et les fauteuils luxueux comme les loges dorées ont été emportés par les flammes. Les dégâts causés sont si importants que les pompiers napolitains ont admis en milieu de matinée que « la structure est complètement compromise ». The White House insisted that by releasing the files they had done "more for the victims than Democrats ever have".
Millions of new files relating to the late sex offender Epstein were released by the US Department of Justice earlier this month.

French police have launched a murder inquiry after a far-right activist died in hospital having been beaten up in an attack that has fuelled political tensions in France.
Quentin Deranque, a 23-year-old mathematics student, died from a severe brain injury at the weekend. The Lyon prosecutor, Thierry Dran, said Deranque was assaulted by at least six masked individuals. Police were working to identify suspects and no arrests had been made, Dran said.
Deranque was attacked on Thursday on the sidelines of a protest against a university conference attended by Rima Hassan, a European member of parliament for Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s leftwing party, La France Insoumise (LFI).
The anti-immigration Nemesis collective, which is close to the far right, was protesting against the conference.
