MARK ALEXANDER: Heute ist in Frankreich Nicolas Sarkozy inhaftiert worden, was mir irgendwie leidtut.

Britain’s Place Is with Europe, Not America
MARK ALEXANDER: What is going on in America right now is nothing less than a SHITSHOW!
To think that we have given up our membership of the European Union to align ourselves with that chaotic, catastrophic, autocratic, tyrannical SHITSHOW truly beggars belief!
We can thank Cameron for calling that STUPID, COWARDLY referendum, that self-serving DICKHEAD otherwise known as Nigel Fags, and that clown extraordinaire, BoJo for the ensuing loss of prosperity!
If Keir Starmer really wants to inject life into his failing government, he needs to recognise that this country is crying out for the recognition of the GRAVE mistake we Brits have made in voting for the losers’ Brexit. He needs to assure the people that he will do all he possibly can to reverse the ridiculous decision to leave the European Union.
If Starmer adopted such a strategy, Starmer’s task ahead would be difficult; but the difficulties would not be insurmountable.
We Brits are Europeans. We are not Americans. In fact, we have LITTLE in common with Americans other than language and the desire to make money. But our values are certainly European. Our Royal Family is European, too; and so many Brits worship the Royal Family.
If the people of this country want to retain their SOVEREIGNTY, then we, as a nation, need to re-join the European Union as soon as is humanly possible. Long live the United Kingdom! Long live the European Union!

The West Is In Rapid Decline…
MARK ALEXANDER: The West started its rapid, steep decline when women stopped wanting to be mothers and when they chose careers over motherhood, and when men stopped being the providers for their families.
Hilary Clinton once argued that the workforce needed women. I would argue that it would be far more beneficial to the West if women stayed at home to bring up their children.
First of all, the West needs more children. Secondly, children don’t bring up themselves. Any well-educated person can fulfil the needs of commerce and industry; but only a loving, caring mother can look after her children properly and bring up her children properly and hopefully correctly.
The West went into rapid decline when women started to choose careers over motherhood. So, feminism is the villain if the piece.
It is quite understandable that most mothers these days have to work, but this is a situation that has been caused by the demands of feminism, the demands of women’s equality. If women hadn’t demanded equality, things would be very different today.
Were women back in the home procreating and being good mothers and housewives, we wouldn’t need all these immigrants to do the jobs that we ourselves can no longer do, or no longer want to do.

A Restful Night’s Sleep?
MARK ALEXANDER: Are you going to go to bed tonight in the full knowledge and certainty that we are being led and run by competent leaders? No? I thought not. I agree with you. Neither am I! Fact is, we are being led by impotent clowns who have no idea how to maintain world peace. Several of them appear to have no knowledge or understanding of world history!
World war could break out at ANY time. These are troubling times indeed. I am in my seventies. NEVER in my life hitherto have I ever felt so unsure of the continuation of the peaceful times I am living through. Moreover, never have I ever felt that I am being led by such incompetent fools — fools whose priorities are right up the gum tree!

Hitzige Live-Debatte mit Salafist deckt wahres Gesicht des Islam auf!
MARKALEXANDER: This is an essay I wrote on the nature of Islam back in 2007! It is entitled Islam: The Enemy of Democracy and Freedom. My words have stood the test of time and will go on doing so. Why? Because this essay is THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. You can read the full ESSAY here.
When I wrote this essay, it was read by very many all around the world. As its message is timeless, it is still very relevant today, For this reason, please don't hesistate to share a link to the essay with your family, friends, and acquaintances. — © Mark Alexander

Quitting Smoking
MARK ALEXANDER: I have just realised something: It’s August 10th. As I quit smoking on April 10th 2022, and as I haven’t smoked anything since, that means that three years and four months have past by since enjoying the pleasure of smoking my last cigarette. I haven’t cheated even once.
These days, I come into contact with no smokers at all. None whatsoever! I can’t remember the day when I last smelt a smoker’s burning cigarette. Why? Because I can’t think of anyone I know who smokes anymore. The people I know are either people who have never smoked or people who have given up the pleasurable habit. So it grieves me to have to report that I have almost forgotten what the smell of a burning cigarette is like.
Many people would probably be joyful about this. I am not. I used to love the smell of fresh cigarette and cigar smoke. To me, it was redolent of conviviality. To this day, the sight of a handsome man exhaling smoke is a joy to behold.
Joyless wonders may well be proud of their achievements in creating a joyless world. I am not. To me, the pleasures of life have been destroyed. And fact is: people are no healthier today as a result of the onslaught of killjoys. In fact, if anything, they are unhealthier. These days people get their kicks from different unhealthy habits. But healthier they are not.

It’s High Time that the European Union Grow a Spine
MARK ALEXANDER: The trade deal reached by the European Union with the USA, with Donald Trump, shows us how weak the European Union actually is. When it comes to the European Union, it’s a question of… Yes, Sir! Of course, Sir! How high should I jump to please you, Sir? How pathetic! Grow a pair, for Christ’s sake!
The European Union is a market of 450 million people. That means to say 450 million potential consumers, It is a far bigger market that the USA is. The population of the USA is a mere 340 million. The sooner that the EU realises its potential purchasing power, the sooner the EU will realise its economic and political potential. For heaven’s sake, the European Union should get its act together! Soon!

Removal of the Visitor Counter
MARK ALEXANDER: The counter I placed up on this blog today has not worked. According to Google, as I write this, my visitors have climbed to 6178894, but for some inexplicable reason, this counter is not recording the visits. For this reason, I have decided to remove the counter until such time that I can find a different solution. There is little point in my keeping a ‘frozen’ visitor counter up on this blog.
This is disappointing, of course.

Visitor Counter: Over Six Million Visitors to Date
MARK ALEXANDER: I am very pleased to be able to announce that this blog has hit over the six million mark now. This has been made possible thanks to you. Without your loyalty, it would not have been possible. So, for that, I thank you all kindly.
The accurate statistics are courtesy of Google.com and the counter itself is courtesy of statcounter.com , in Ireland, whose staff have been exceedingly helpful to me over very many years. Naturally, Statcounter will continue to monitor my hits.
All I can hope for now is to hit the next target: seven million. Hopefully soon.
My heartfelt thanks to you all.

Smoking
MARK ALEXANDER: The war on smoking and smokers is being waged continuously. One would be forgiven for concluding that our useless politicians have nothing better or more important to think about or concern themselves with. Would that we had politicians like Helmut Schmidt or Winston Churchill today!
This war on smoking is regrettable, and one day these stupid politicians will come to see the folly of their ways. Making cigarettes so expensive and making it impossible to smoke everywhere is the most ridiculous of things. Even the French have succumbed to this stupidity! And the heavy-smoking Germans, too!
Why do I say these things? It is simple. Anyone who has ever worked with young people will know that young people will always seek out their pleasures and kicks. If they cannot get their kicks one way, they will seek them out some other way. This is one of the hallmarks of youth. Is there any wonder that we now have so many young people hooked on e-cigarettes? Is there any wonder that we now have so many people hooked on ketamine? Is there any wonder why we now have so many young people hooked on cocaine, or on marijuana? Banning cigarettes, Sir Keir, is not going to make young people hale and healthy and/or virtuous. What it will do is drive cigarette smoking underground and it will push young people into the arms of drug dealers. How stupid politicians these days are! How naïve!
On a positive note, I quit smoking more than three years ago. In fact, the last cigarette I smoked was the day after my birthday, on April 10th 2022. My quitting has been extremely successful, but my waistline has expanded accordingly.
My advice is this: Giving up smoking is easier than you think. If I can do it, you can too. I had been a pack-a-day smoker. (And I loved every one of the cigarettes I smoked throughout my life.) Smoking fine cigarettes is one of life’s great pleasures. The people who complain about smoking and smokers are a PITA! When it comes to being cool and sexy, nothing compares to a cigarette.
If you want to give up smoking, fear not, it will be easier than you think. Though you do need determination. But expect to put on weight.

Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump…
MARK ALEXANDER: … Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump!
Read the newspapers and Trump is everywhere. Check out the videos on YouTube, and he’s everywhere there, too! The ubiquitous Trump is like the bad penny that keeps on popping up! You simply cannot get away from a bad penny, and you can’t get away from Trump, either.
We’ll have this sh** for years to come. At least four years, and if Trump, Bannon and their cronies get their way, for a lot longer even than that!
How are we to be able to retain our sanity?

I Am a Committed European
MARK ALEXANDER: I should like to take this opportunity to remind my visitors that I am a totally committed European. I am NOT an American. And nor do I want to be one. The Americans have screwed me over once in my life — BIG TIME — so they will never get another chance to do so. Their despicable behaviour has turned me, a one-time lover of America, into an America-sceptic. Americans talk the talk, but fail miserably to walk the walk.
I have lots of experience of what life is like in America. I have spent lots of time there. Life there is not in accordance with our European way of life. Please be wise enough to refrain from holding the American way of life in such high regard. The European way of life is far, far better, far more cultured, and far healthier, too. Let Americans enjoy their corrupt ways; we can enjoy something better, something healthier, something altogether more cultured and altogether different.

Smoking
MARK ALEXANDER: Today marks two years and nine full months since I last smoked a cigarette. On April 10th, it will be three full years.
Naturally, I am proud of my achievement. But I must say in all honesty that giving up smoking has been a mixed blessing. I have had no cravings. None! But it goes without saying that for a lifelong smoker as I was — for most of my adult life, I smoked a pack a day — inevitably something is missing in my life. Being single, smoking used to keep me company.
Healthwise, certain things have improved. My blood pressure is much, much lower. So much lower, in fact, that I have had to halve my medications for hypertension. Truth to tell, I am no longer hypertensive; in fact, I am quite the opposite. I have to be careful that my blood pressure is high enough!
My eyesight has also improved. Greatly! I have never had bad eyesight, but I used to have to use spectacles for reading. Since quitting smoking, I am now able to read a book, or computer screen, without reading glasses! Not bad, considering my age, I would say. Generally, I do use ready readers when reading a book, though, or when at the computer. Not because I really need them, but out of sheer laziness. Simply put, it is easier that way. I can’t remember the day I used my prescription reading glasses! Two years ago, maybe.
The worst thing about giving up smoking, as far as I am concerned, apart from the lost pleasure — I used to love a smoke — is the fact that since quitting, I have gained weight. Smoking kept my weight stable and kept me relatively slim. Since quitting, despite having a very small appetite and despite eating a very healthy diet, almost sugar-free and low in carbohydrates, I have still gained weight. This is the worst thing about being a non-smoker as far as I am concerned.
Naturally, by not smoking, I have not had to spend any money on cigarettes. That should have been a significant saving. However, my quitting coincided with a time in which energy prices and food prices have skyrocketed, so I can’t honestly say that I have felt the financial benefit of quitting.
For those of you who still smoke, enjoy the cigarettes you smoke. My quitting has in no way turned me into an anti-smoker. In fact, quite the contrary. I am very much for smokers’ rights. I deplore the current war on smoking and smokers. I hate the way that smokers have been attacked at every turn. Will I ever smoke again? Who knows? I have no intention of ever doing so. But I also know that it is very unwise ever to rule anything out in life. And to my way of thinking, people these days do far, far worse things than enjoy the smoking of a cigarette. So, if cigarettes are your thing, all I can say is this: Keep on smoking! Keep on enjoying them.

Happy New Year! Frohes Neues Jahr! Bonne année ! Blwydden Newydd Dda! ¡Feliz año nuevo! Buon Anno! Feliz Ano Novo! | ! سنة جديدة سعيدة
MARK ALEXANDER: Here we are at the end of another year. So, I should like to thank you all for your continued support. It is greatly appreciated. Naturally, it would help me a lot if you became followers of mine. My followers never seem to increase despite having so many visitors each week, each month. We will soon be up to six million in total, yet my followers remain the same! Your decision to follow this blog/vlog would be very much appreciated.
We are going into 2025 with the dark cloud of a Trump presidency hanging over us. Many might not agree with my assessment, but the mere thought of four more years of Trump in the White House fills me with trepidation and despair. God only knows what the next four years will bring! Trump has threatened to end democracy in America. I see no reason to disbelieve him. He is already turning the USA into an oligarchy. (Though I would prefer to call it a plutocracy, for I consider that word to be a more accurate description.) Anyway, be it oligarchy or plutocracy, what else can we do but hope for the best?
So, here we are again at the end of the year. Therefore, all that is left for me to do now is to wish you all health, happiness, prosperity, and good luck for the year ahead.

Happy Christmas to One and All
MARK ALEXANDER: Here we are at the start of Christmas once again. How time flies by!
I should like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your very valued and continued support. Truly, it is much appreciated. In fact, your support sustains me.
As we all know, times are difficult for many, and even dangerous and life-threatening for many others. One thinks of the poor, suffering people in the Ukraine, in Gaza, in the Yemen, in Syria, and in many other countries besides. In Africa, for example, in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic (CAR), the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan itself.
Then there are areas and countries in the world which are experiencing very difficult economic challenges, such as Argentina. Many Argentinians are suffering from the anarcho-capitalist economic experiment being tried there. And even here at home in Europe, many are suffering from poverty and extreme economic challenges. Many are homeless, and many have difficulty putting food on the table for their children and loved ones. One hopes and prays for them all: hopes and prays for better times ahead for everyone.
Over Christmas, many people will be experiencing loneliness, too. Even in plenty, loneliness can be a particular challenge. Especially for the elderly or for people who have been rejected by their families, possibly because they have had the courage to be true to themselves and have come out. Many families reject their gay children or siblings. Being alone at Christmas, for whatever reason, is a particular challenge for many.
With this backdrop, I should like to send you all my sincere thanks for your staunch and continued support. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the twelve days of Christmas, and beyond, of course. I want you all to know and be sure that your visits here to this website are not only noticed, but are appreciated greatly. In a strange way, I feel that you are like my family. So, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Frohe Weihnachten! Joyeux noël! ¡Feliz navidad! Buon Natale! Nadolig Llawen! Feliz Natal! !عيد ميلاد مجيد

Trump and America Disgust Me. Maybe Its Time to Change Direction. Maybe the Time Has Come for Me to Change My Faith.
MARK ALEXANDER: The West has been so corrupted by Donald Trump and all those mega-billionaire grifters and arsehole-scrapers that I am beginning to think that maybe the best thing I can do now is convert to Islam! Yes, you read that right: convert to Islam.
I spent many years working in the Middle East with Muslims, and I can honestly say that even though their ideas were alien to me at that time, I never encountered such stupidity and nastiness as I read about now each, and every, day here in the West. Especially since that Trump came on the scene. Trump is POISON to the body politic of the West. He is like a cancerous tumour on the West, and that primary cancer is metastasising, as I have said before.
We have got AT LEAST four years of this SHIT ahead of us. Frankly, I don’t know whether I can stand it. I despise that man. Donald Trump is everything in a man that I loathe and despise. He is brash, vulgar, egocentric, boastful, arrogant and, quite frankly, not very bright. And then some!
However, not only is Trump himself sickening, people’s behaviour towards him is also particularly loathsome in that they are queueing up to kiss his arse. They are brown-nosing. And the brown-nosing knows no bounds.
If this is the best that the West can do, then I regret to say that I shall want nothing to do with it. Kneeling to God is one thing; kneeling to this idiot is something else altogether.
It grieves me to have to say this, but maybe the time has come for me to find my nearest mosque to take my Shahada! I shall have to give this solution serious consideration. There is no way that I can revere the West and its poltics under this clown.

The Downfall of the West — La chute de l'Occident — Der Untergang des Westens
MARK ALEXANDER: America is nothing more than a plutocracy. Some call it an oligarchy. I prefer to call it a plutocracy. A plutocracy is a country ruled by the rich. And that is PRECISELY what America is. It pretends to be a democracy — a republic if you can keep it and all that crap — well, they haven’t kept it, have they? Now, they will have one of the worst of all forms of government: rule by the superrich. The plutocrats are about to rule supreme. The little people there are about to become littler and even less important. The fabulously wealthy are about to become wealthier still. But hey! People with hundreds of billions deserve a few hundred billion more, don’t they? Otherwise, how the hell can we expect them to be able to get by?
Trump is a cancer on the American body politic. Unfortunately, the cancer is metastasising throughout the western world. Trump’s plutocratic administration is going to be an object lesson to the rest of the world in how to enrich yourself and your buddies — and get away with it! And the Americans are stupid enough to put up with this CRAP! What they should be doing is taxing these people to bring down that horrendous national debt.
The West is broken — “BIGLY” — and it deserves the downfall that is coming to it. Who in his right mind would ever want to fight to preserve this ridiculous DISORDER? The West is RIPE for the TAKEOVER. It has LOST THE PLOT.
I am so glad that I am old enough to have experienced the West in the good times. I feel so sorry for the young people of today. They will never have a chance to witness how wonderful it was to be brought up in a sane world.
