Majority of Britons See Islam as Threat, New Poll Reveals

Muslims attend Friday prayers during the second day of
Ramadan, in the courtyard of a housing estate next to the
small BBC community centre and mosque in east London,
Britain June 19, 2015.
NEWSWEEK: A majority of Britons consider Muslims to be a threat to Western democracy, a higher level than after the 7/7 bombings in 2005, a new poll has revealed, with over 75% believing that a large-scale terror attack is inevitable.

The survey, conducted by international research firm YouGov for the Huffington Post, revealed that 56% of those asked believe that Islam is a "major" or "some" threat to Western democracy, showing a marked rise in negative views towards Muslims.

The results represent a 10% rise from the 46% who held the same views in a poll conducted just a day after the 2005 terror attacks, the 10th anniversary of which is next week. The attack saw four coordinated suicide bombs target London's transport network, killing 52 people and injure almost 800 more. » | Jack Moore | Friday, July 3, 3015

Why Islam’s Sharia Law Is the Biggest Threat to American Safety

THE WASHINGTON POST: WASHINGTON , May 10, 2013 – Former US Attorney General Mike Mukasey spoke recently at Temple Emanuel in Greensboro, North Carolina. “Isms all want to rid the world of something. Nazism wanted to rid the world of Jews. Communism wanted to rid the world of God. Islamism wants to rid the world of infidels - that is you,” said Mukasey.

Sharia (the “path) is Islamic law. According to most sources, including the Council on Foreign Relations, shariah is made up of rules that regulate every nook and cranny of life - worship, marriage and inheritance, criminal offenses, commerce and personal conduct. “It is derived primarily from the Quran and the Sunna—the sayings, practices, and teachings of the Prophet Mohammed.”

The bombings and shootings in the name of Islam, such as the Boston Marathon, Fort Hood, the “Underwear Bomber” and 911 are just one element of how sharia law calls Muslims to fight against those who do not accept their law.

Andrew McCarthy, former federal prosecutor and co-author of Shariah: The Threat To America: An Exercise In Competitive Analysis, wrote, “American elites still deal with sharia as just a religious system, when in fact it is as totalitarian a political program as ever were those of communism, fascism, national socialism, or Japanese imperialism.”

The Muslim holy book, the Quran, says that non-Muslims are “the most vile of created beings” (Q 98:6)

Omar Ahmad, co-founder/Board Chairman of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), in 1998 said publicly, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

Islam’s sharia law is insinuating itself into our courtrooms, schools, prisons and every other aspect of society. The lever often used is one of discrimination against the precepts of shariah, while Christian and Jewish customs and laws remain.

America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. From those foundational principles, Jews and Christians predominantly built this nation’s entire infrastructure from hospitals, universities and charities to the industries that made life better for much of the world.

Islamic principles, defined by sharia law, are in absolute direct opposition to everything Americans believe regarding the law and civil society. » | Carla Garrison | Truth Be Told | Friday, May 10, 2013

Bishop of Rochester Reasserts 'No-Go' Claim

The man who should be made Archbishop of Canterbury!

THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: In his first interview since his controversial comments, Dr Michael Nazir-Ali vows not to be forced into silence

The Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, who received death threats for airing his views on Islamic issues, has vowed that he will continue to speak out.

His claim that Islamic extremism has turned some parts of Britain into "no-go" areas for non-Muslims led to fierce rows between political and religious leaders over the impact of multiculturalism on this country.

Those comments were followed soon after by the Archbishop of Canterbury's suggestion that the adoption of aspects of sharia law in Britain was "unavoidable".

The bishops' views in The Sunday Telegraph sparked a storm of criticism and raised questions over the role of the Church in society but, most seriously for Dr Nazir-Ali, led to threats that he and his family would be harmed.

Yet, in his first interview since the sinister calls were made to his home, the Bishop of Rochester remains steadfastly defiant. He will not be silenced. "I believe people should not be prevented from speaking out," he says. "The issue had to be raised. There are times when Christian leaders have to speak out."

He arrived in Britain in the 1980s and seems to have taken up the mantle for defending the country's values he fears are being threatened by a loss of its Christian heritage.

Dressed casually in a roll-neck jumper and sports jacket, he seems relaxed now as he walks around his study in Bishopscourt, but it has clearly been a stressful time.

Threats were made warning that he would not "live long" and would be "sorted out" if he continued to criticise Islam.

"If you disagree, that must be met by counter-arguments, not by trying to silence people. It was a threat not just to me, but to my family. I took it seriously, so did the police. It gave me sleepless nights."

However, it's not the first time that his life has been endangered.

Shortly after being made a bishop in Pakistan - at 35 he was the youngest in the Anglican Church - he was forced to flee to Britain to seek refuge from Muslims who wanted to kill him.

He says that he never expected to suffer the same treatment in Britain and expresses concerns over recent social developments.

"The real danger to Britain today is the spiritual and moral vacuum that has occurred for the last 40 or 50 years. When you have such a vacuum something will fill it.

"If people are not given a fresh way of understanding what it means to be a Christian and what it means to be a Christian-based society then something else may well take the place of all that we're used to and that could be Islam."
