FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG: Der Zug von St. Petersburg diente in den vergangenen Wochen vielen Russen als Mittel, um nach Europa zu kommen. Am Sonntag soll das letztmalig möglich sein.

Mit dem Schnellzug Allegro sind es vom russischen St. Petersburg bis in die finnische Hauptstadt Helsinki nur etwa dreieinhalb Stunden. Eine beliebte Verbindung war das lange, noch vor dem Ausbruch der Corona-Pandemie war die Zahl der Fahrgäste im Jahr 2019 um mehr als 15 Prozent gestiegen. Und wem die Fahrt dann doch zu lang wurde, der konnte sich im Bistro einen Champagner bestellen. Doch damit ist es jetzt erst einmal vorbei. Denn wie die staatliche finnische Betreibergesellschaft nun mitgeteilt hat, wird am Sonntag vorerst der letzte Allegro aus St. Petersburg in den Bahnhof von Helsinki einfahren.
