This, with thanks to my guest writer, Eleanor:
The Freedoms We Fight For
Islam hates individual freedoms and Islamists are moving quickly and violently to hasten the demise of any and all freedoms we cherish in the West.
Free speech has never been allowed by Islam. Freedom of speech is under attack because the dissemination of information and opinion that is unfavorable to Islam could not be possible without the unimpeded access we have to get and give information. Today's world is shrunk by technology that allows groups and individuals greater access than ever before to information and to each other.
Will technology force us to adopt the kind of self-censorship that has been imposed on Muslims since the beginning. If we in the West allow Muslims to force and enforce our silence. it will only be a matter of time before our other precious freedoms will be lost forever and Islam will have won.
Ironically Islam is becoming very successful in silencing speech in the West. Everyone remembers the plight of Salmon Rushdie, the novelist against whom a death sentence has been issued and Theo Van Gogh, the filmmaker against whom a death sentence has been carried out. But they aren't alone.
Omar Sharif has been threatened because he gave credence to Christianity while playing St. Peter in an Italian film. Ali Hirsi, a member of the Dutch Parliament, must live in hiding due to her death sentence. Khalid Duran produced a book called Children of Abraham: An Introduction to Islam for Jews for the American Jewish Committee that caused an escalating furor in the Muslim world that, according to the scholar Daniel Pipes, resulted in a fatwa that "religiously condones Duran's death." Ironically CAIR did not condemn Duran but the American Jewish Committee for publicizing the remarks to Abu Zant, a powerful Islamist leader in Jordan.
Read the rest for additional chilling examples of death threats and other intimidation against those that have the courage to expose themselves by criticism or by even giving information about Islam that has not been given the seal of approval by Muslim leaders, mullahs, and scholars.

Ayatollah Khomeini said in January 1980, in a speech to 120 Pakistani Army officers visiting him in the Iranian city of Qom:
We are at war against infidels. Take the message with you. 'I ask all Islamic nations, all Muslims, all Islamic armies, and all heads of Islamic states to join the Holy War. There are many enemies to be killed or destroyed. Jihad must triumph... Muslims have no alternative... to an armed Holy War against profane governments... Holy War means the conquest of all non-Muslim territories. It will be the duty of every able-bodied adult male to volunteer for this war of conquest, the final aim of which is to put Koranic law in power from one end of the earth to the other.'The Ayatollah also said, tellingly, when describing the Islamic revolution in Iran: Islam is politics or it is nothing.

The West is being Islamized before our very eyes! It is happening in such subtle ways that it is sometimes imperceptible to those who are not looking out for it. But much of the time, what is happening is plain to see. Each and every concession we make to Muslims is a further nail in the coffin of liberal democracy. Each time we consider granting Muslims a public holiday, each time we consider curtailing our own freedom of speech to appease them, we are assisting Muslims to further Islamize our home countries. Be sure of that!
Western governments should not be powerless to deal with this, but evenso they seem to be: They lack the will and determination to stop the rot.
Political correctness, of course, has taken its toll on the West. So has the ridiculous concept of multiculturalism. Add to this a deep-seated guilt complex, a pervasive attitude of self-denigration, extreme tolerance, and an army of apologists for Islam, and we have a catastrophe in the making!
One of our greatest mistakes is to think of Islam as just another one of the world's great religions. We shouldn't. Islam is politics or it is nothing at all, but, of course, it is politics with a spiritual dimension, politics all wrapped up in a deity.
What is the nature of the politics of Islam? Well, that's an easy one to answer: It is little different from the politics of a totalitarian state, little different from the ideologies of Nazism or communism, different only in detail rather than style. Both Nazism and communism used the purge to try and 'cleanse' society of what it considered undesirable. Islam always does the same. Both of those tolerated only a single political party. Islam generally does the same, and certainly, where it doesn't, insists that all parties be Islamic ones. This, of course, gives the establishment the power to coerce the people. G. H. Sabine, in his book, A History of Political Theory, tells us this about Nazism and communism:
...the party was a self-constituted aristocracy which has [sic] the mission partly of leading, partly of instructing, and partly of coercing the bulk of mankind along the road that it must follow. Both were totalitarian in the sense that they obliterated the liberal distinction between areas of private judgment and of public control, and both turned the educational system into an agency of universal indoctrination. In their philosophy[,] both were utterly dogmatic, professing, the one in the name of the Aryan race and the other in the name of the proletariat, a higher insight capable of laying down rules for art, literature, science, and religion. Both induced a frame of mind akin to religious fanaticism. In strategy[,] both were reckless in their assertions, boundless in their claims, abusive toward their opponents, prone to regard any concession on their own part as a temporary expedient and on a rival's part as a sign of weakness. The social philosophies of both agreed in regarding society as in essence a system of forces, economic or racial, between which adjustment takes place by struggle and dominance rather than by mutual understanding and concession. Both therefore regarded politics as merely an expression of power. So much in Islam resembles those two despicable ideologies. The ruling party in Islamic countries coerces the people along the road that it must follow. This is particularly easy to observe in Iran today. Islam, too, tries to obliterate the liberal distinction between areas of private judgment and of public control. We see this in all Islamic countries. Similar to Nazism and communism, Islam also turns the educational system into an apparatus of the state for the purpose of universal indoctrination. One would be justified in using the term 'brainwashing'.
In addition, Islam also lays down rules for art (no depiction of the human form is allowed, for example), for literature (all is censored), for science (nothing discovered may contradict the Qur'an or Ahadith, or the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), and certainly for religion (no religion is accepted of man except Islam). Where Jews and Christians live in Islamic countries, they are given protection in return for a high tax known as the jiziyah, but are given dhimmi status, which means, in effect, that they are subdued and given second class status.
Islam also induces a frame of mind akin to fanaticism. That this is so is self-explanatory. Islam is also reckless in its assertions, and boundless in its claims. Example: All the world belongs to Allah; therefore it is the duty of all Muslims to Islamize it. In Islam, too, adjustment takes place by struggle and dominance. Note the Jihad.
A remarkable similarity is this: Islam is also inclined to be abusive to its opponents (they are infidels and unclean), and is prone to regard any concession on its own part as a temporary expedient and on a rival's part as a sign of weakness. And Islam, too, regards politics as an expression of power. Oh, and we shouldn't forget that Islam is profoundly anti-Semitic!
Aren't the similarities just remarkable?
What is troubling is this: Islam is closing in on us. We have so many unassimilated Muslims living in Europe, and an ever growing number living in the States, too. In fact, millions and millions of Muslims live in the West today. But the West has no strategy for dealing with the fall-out. We saw this recenty in France when their cities burnt night after night. The mayhem Muslim immigrants caused there was enough to make anyone's hair stand on end! But what has France done about it? It has unveiled a series of measures to appease the Muslim immigrants, and has ignored the fact that this was an uprising caused in no small part by the Islamic community flexing its ever strengthening muscles.
If we in the West wish to ensure the survival of our own civilization, wish to ensure that our children will be able to live as freely as we have been able to do, wish to ensure that people are free to choose their religion in the West, but just as free not to choose one, then we have a lot of thinking to do!
I would suggest that we start by asking one simple question: Should we regard Islam as a mere religion, or should we start to see it for what it truly is: A political ideology with megalomaniacal aspirations? A political ideology with a spiritual dimension which will stop at nothing until the West is no more, until the West has been brought into Dar ul Islam, or the 'House of Islam', until the West has been well and truly Islamized. To ignore this fact is tantamount to playing fast and loose with our children's future freedoms and security. In fact, it is negligent of their future well-being!

Leaders from the Euro-Med countries gather in Spain.
Please read this from the BBC. This meeting wouldn't be about how to increase the influence of Islam in Europe, would it? They wouldn't be discussing how to speed up the Islamization of Europe, would they? They wouldn't be discussing how to transform Europe into Eurabia in one generation, by any chance, would they?
Instead of trying to find ways of decreasing the influence of Islam in Europe, our leaders are selling out to the Islamic world!

So now we have to depend on the Middle East for natural gas, too!
It seems that the might of the Islamic world is set to increase yet again. Now, Britain is to get 20% of its natural gas supplies from Kuwait starting in 2007. This from the BBC.

Aren't we just forgetting who our real and trusted friends are?
It's the only democratic country in the Middle East; and it's the only country that we can count on to be our true friends there. But our politicians seem to be ignoring this fact. We turn our backs on Israel at our own peril! Read Charles Moore's fine article in the Telegraph yesterday.

Myths & Movements
Muhammad, the prophet, understood much about the ways of the world. He understood very well the above theory put forward by Georges Sorel. He knew how to create a myth, so he set about creating one; he knew the effect that myth would have on the world if people would only start to accept the myth as fact and true, so he fought the people till it was accepted as true. A myth was created, and the rest, as they say, is history!
In Muhammad's case he would retire to a cave, where the Archangel Gabriel is said to have descended upon him, requesting him to recite in the name of the Lord!
People were simpler back then. They must have been able to believe such a myth. Imagine coming home to your own spouse or family member saying that the Archangel Gabriel had visited you in a cave, asking you to recite in the name of the Lord! I know what my family would do! They'd call the doctor to ask him to commit me! My guess is that yours would probably do the same. Alas, way back then, they obviously didn't; otherwise we wouldn't be where we are today: with a great struggle on our hands. We wouldn't be left with the task of rolling back the frontiers lest we be subsumed into Dar ul Islam!
Islam is, however, a very clever myth, since it portrays itself as the perfection of religion for man for all time, deen al kamal. You've got to hand it to Muhammad, he invented something which many find difficult to refute. He also included all the other prophets that went before him, so as to try not to alienate the other believers. That didn't quite come off, but still, the movement has grown around the world like Topsy. There are said to be way over 1.2 billion Muslims worldwide, and we're still counting! This, despite the gruesome nature of attacks on infidels! It never ceases to amaze me what people will fall for.
But then we know that people are gullible and gregarious. Therein lies one of Islam's strengths. I dare say that Prophet Muhammad was well aware of these characteristics of human nature.
These days, the myth has been given a new lease on life because of the oil wealth generated for the home of Islam: the Middle East. Our businessmen, of course, ever ready to make a fast buck, and having little understanding of our own civilization, still less any respect for it, happily and willingly curry favour with the movers and shakers of the oil-rich desert fiefdoms of the desert. One could almost say that they suck up to their masters there. I've seen the fawning that goes on. It's a sickening sight to behold!
The politicians and the businessmen - these are the people who are selling us short. These are the people who lack the spine to behave with more dignity, and, as a result, give away more of our freedoms by the day. Weakness, I tell you, abounds! These people simper and fawn and suck up. It's a case of yes, sir, no, sir, three bags full, sir. After all, the businessman's bottom line - profit - and his bank balance are far more important to him than anything else.
We're in a mess, though, aren't we? A right old pickle! Moreover, it's going to take a complete U-turn to change direction and win back what we have already lost. And it won't come cost-free either.
Isn't it strange how Western leaders have changed in just a few decades? It was less than sixty years ago that we, in Great Britian, were being led by Winston Churchill. He took a dim view of the strictures of Islam. Not so our leaders today. Now they do nothing to keep Islam at bay; instead, they do everything in their power to integrate the Islamic world into our own world, and there are syncretist forces at work to meld our two religions. But this, of course, will not work. Never will they manage to do that! Muslims, for a start, will not allow their message to be changed in any way. They are rigid. Extremely rigid!
Christianity, too, is based on a traditional story, or myth (myths don't have to be untrue): the story that Jesus was the Son of God, and that He was crucified to save our souls, to redeem us. And inasmuch as this was done to Him, He became our Saviour.
This has been an exceedingly powerful story for us, guiding us for over 2000 years. The problem today is that many have ceased to believe in the story, or if they haven't ceased to believe in it, they have become indifferent to it. Because of this, the development of the West, based as it is on this story, is losing steam. As it continues to lose its steam, it will decelerate and weaken. We simply cannot have it all ways. For, as Sorel says: ...it is essentially an image that can evoke sentiment and that supplies the cohesion and drive to release revolutionary energy.
In Islam, the image is still exceedingly strong; in Christianity, it is considerably weakened. We shall, however, have to find a way of strengthening it again, or else we will have nothing to 'fight' for, nothing to 'fight' to maintain, nothing to hold us together! The story of Christ was the buckle that bound us. It was our guiding light, so to speak. Modern day secularism will not be strong enough to stand up to the onslaught of Islam, since it is hard - very hard - to become passionate about a 'nothing'! To my knowledge, no great movement, either religious or political, in the history of the world, has been founded on a non-story. The myth is all important! No myth, no movement!

All great social movements ... have come about by the pursuit of a myth. To analyze a myth or to inquire whether it is true - even to ask whether it is practicable - is meaningless. For it is essentially an image that can evoke sentiment and that supplies the cohesion and drive to release revolutionary energy. A political philosophy is not a rational guide to action but an incitement to fanatical determination and blind devotion. ... Conceived as a myth[,] philosophy is a vision of life but not a plan, and still less is it a theory that depends on reason. It is rather a release of the deep-lying instincts of a people, inherent in the "life-force" itself, or in their "blood" or "spirit". Georges Sorel, French Social Philosopher. (Source: A History of Political Theory by G. H. Sabine)I came across this in my reading a few days ago. It jumped out of the page at me, since it fits Islam to a 'T'.
Muhammad, the prophet, understood much about the ways of the world. He understood very well the above theory put forward by Georges Sorel. It's the time of year for peace and goodwill to all men (and women, of course), and it's the time of year to be especially hospitable and charitable to all, including the less fortunate.
It's a wonderful time of year. Sadly, due to the disease of multiculturalism, many people now feel a twinge of guilt when celebrating it. As a result, in some neighbourhoods and districts, Christmas trees are not erected, and all reference to Christmas is eradicated. These sick people - and there are many of them around - are trying to turn our wonderful festival into a "winterfest"!
Well, I don't know about you, but as far as I am concerned, the word 'winterfest' just doesn't cut the mustard!
Christmas comprises twelve whole days. These are the Christians' holy days, for they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, their Saviour. The man who was crucified for their sins.
There are many who deny the crucifixion of Jesus Christ; but these people are ignorant of the historical truth of the event! There is evidence aplenty of His crucifixion. Evidence which comes not just from Christian sources, but from non-Christian sources, too! Please click here, here, and here to read about this evidence.
It is particularly galling for us as Westerners to be confronted each and every successive year with more tales of local councils and businesses refusing to recognize, fully recognize, the significance of Christmastide. So many businesses and schools and council offices up and down the country, both this side of the Atlantic and that side, refuse to offer their customers the traditional greeting of 'Merry Christmas', and refuse, too, to erect Christmas trees and, perhaps more importantly, refuse to put up the traditional Nativity scene. Indeed, in many schools, our children are being denied an important part of their heritage - the re-enactment of the Nativity. These children are all the poorer because of this. They are being raised in ignorance of the significance of Christmas to their civilization and culture! And all in the name of multiculturalism. This is all done in the name of sensitivity to the culture of others, especially the Islamic culture.
I can tell you now, and with certainty, that no such sensitivity exists in Islam. Go and live in a Muslim country over the Christmas period. Then you will see that they pay not even lip-service to our important celebration. Indeed, in Saudi Arabia, the King there usually makes an official declaration that Christmas will NOT be celebrated. No roasted turkeys in the name of multiculturalism for the Christian expats there from him! In fact, where local traders try and obtain a dollar or two from the local expats by putting up some Christmas decorations, the religious police, or Muttawa, come and make the businessmen take them down!
I would say that Muslims living in the West have no right to expect us to relinquish our important celebration. If they don't like this important event in the Christian calendar, if they are offended by it, then they shouldn't be living in the West. I would suggest that such people ought to be invited to find somewhere to live in this world where the traditions more closely meet their needs.
But then we have the other problem: The problem of weak people pandering to the people whom they think they are offending. This phenomenon is particularly pathetic, and these people should not be employed in capacities which allow them to denigrate the underpinnings of our civilization, for they are, in point of fact, traitors to the cause!
But our political leaders have much to answer for, too. How many of them now send 'proper' Christmas cards? The President of the United States sends out a bland message wishing people "Happy Holidays", or some such corny euphemism! Tony Blair last year sent a card with a photo on it of him and his wife under some arch, he looked 'homely' (or 'homey as our American friends would say), and she looked, well, just as Cherie usually does: self-satisfied! They, too, I believe, omitted the real message of Christmas. What makes them think that people wish to 'adorn' their mantlepieces with photos of them and their family, I do not know. I would suggest that they make a poor substitute for the 'Three Kings of the Orient'!
I do hope that Laura will have the good sense to guide her spouse this year to do the right thing and wish their friends and people in high places a "Merry Christmas", since if the President of the biggest and most powerful country in the West cannot find it within himself - even as a devout Christian - to re-affirm the Christian message at Christmas, then I am afraid that, in the long-run, we are sunk as a civilization! Remember this, Mr Bush: It doesn't take much to bring a civilization to its knees!
As for Tony's wife, Cherie. I don't have great hopes that she will have the good sense to direct her husband to send out the Christmas message. It was she, after all, that fought 'the case of the jilbab'! So I am not sure we can expect better from her!
I would suggest that it is high time that we all re-discovered our Judeo-Christian roots, even the atheists and agnostics among us, since Islam, should it ever become extremely powerful here in the West, will allow no such beliefs, or lack of them! And, as far as I am concerned, there is only ONE way to counter the onslaught of Islam, and that is to celebrate our civilization, based as it is on Judeo-Christianity, and be proud of that heritage. It has given us so, so much: wonderful music, wonderful art, scientific discoveries aplenty, liberty and freedoms beyond the wildest dreams of people living in the Islamic world, literature, poetry - the list goes on!
Like the muscles in our bodies, if they are not used, they atrophy. So it is with a civilization. Or as they say in modern parlance: use it, or lose it! The words of the first black Archbishop, Dr John Sentamu were heartening in today's Times. He has spoken powerfully about how multiculturalism has betrayed the English. I would add that it has betrayed the West in its entirety!

There is no doubt about it that many people are uneasy about the explosive expansion of Islam in the West. Unfortunately, however, too many people are still unaware of this expansion, and even where they are, they are so lacking in knowledge about what Islam really is about that they do not see the dangers it poses. We are sleepwalking into our own demise!
Our leaders do not help this situation since they usually prattle on about how 'true' Islam has nothing to do with the distorted and 'evil' ideology as proposed by Al Qaeda and their ilk. The fact of the matter is, though, that what Al Qaeda preaches is actually the real thing: Islam, not Islam-lite. There is only one Islam anyway; and that, if it continues to grow in the West, will be the death knell of our civilization.
Our politicians, by and large, are frightened of what they see happening, and are generally clueless as to what to do about it. Truth is, however, that we have to decide what is more important to us: Our liberty, or their feelings! If we decide that our liberty is more important to us - which I would hope - then we have to be prepared to take the necessary tough decisions to ensure our own survival, for we will not be able to ensure our own survival without taking them. As Mrs Thatcher used to say: The tough decisions are usually the best ones.
I don't see this happening in the present climate, because there are too many 'bleeding hearts' around for the politicians to have the backing of the electorate to carry out the necessary Draconian measures. But this could all change if there were another major catastrophe. People's memories of the tragedy of 9/11 are already fading, it is sad to say. If another tragedy such as this, or even worse, happened, then we need strong leadership in place to act there and then.
It's rather like punishing a child for wrong-doing: to be effective, it has to be carried out there and then. Waiting a few days and then punishing the child has little or no effect, since the child doesn't know what it is being punished for! The same goes for Muslims. Life has to be made uncomfortable for them when these tragedies occur, and they have to be placed on the defensive. They should not be let off the hook by our liberal and pathetically weak politicians.
To be more concrete in my answer to your question, I should like to say the following:
The heads of state and heads of government need to meet periodically to recognize the problem, and to devise a strategy, and work together, as one. As we all know, there is strength in unity.
Illegal immigrants should be returned to their homelands. There are hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in the West. They have no right to be here. Getting rid of them would go a long way to shrink the Muslim population of the West, and it would help demographics. Over the years, waves of illegal immigrants have been allowed to put down roots here in Europe (in my book, I call this phenomenon 'the Crescades'). They are allowed to stay, and then, some years later, when they have found their feet, they start dictating to us what they want, and how they want it! This must stop!
We need to define, precisely, what we mean by the word religion. This may sound strange, but we so often hear that we have, and must maintain, freedom of religion in the West. But the fact of the matter is that we have yet to define what we mean by religion. Are Rastafarians and Wiccans distinct religious groups? Is Islam truly a religion as we understand a religion to be, or is it - as I would maintain - more of a political ideology?
To Westerners, religion usually means something spiritual, a belief system which encourages peace, tolerance, mutual respect, and mutual understanding. Islam scores badly on all these counts.
How much of Islam is spiritual, and how much political? If, upon investigation, it is found, as I believe, that Islam is 90% political ideology, then are we obliged to give it the freedom to grow in the West as we do to, say, Buddhism? After all, we close down many other political ideologies which we find a threat to our liberty. Why not Islam, too? Just clothing the political ideology in a deity does not make it less of a threat to our way of life. Islam gives a 'divine' imprimatur to the killing of their enemies, and killing those who do not subscribe to their viewpoint.
These are awkward, uncomfortable questions to answer, I know. But they do need to be answered if we are to save ourselves. Perhaps, when all is said and done, we shall be able to allow only the spiritual part of Islam, but make the political aspect illegal. That would make life uncomfortable for Muslims. Many, perhaps, would then move on to where they would be freer to do their thing.
Returning these people to their land of origin in a humane fashion may be an option to consider, too. So much taxpayers' money is now being spent on policing these people that maybe that money would be better spent paying them a lump sum to leave. To continue to spend all that taxpayers' money to police them is ludicrous; indeed, when the numbers of Muslims in the West swell even more, it will become impossible for us to afford to do it.
Muslims need to be told, firmly, how the land lies here in the West. They should be told that they must blend in and live according to our rules, or they must leave. They should be told that they must abandon all designs on Islamizing the system; and if they cannot, then they are not welcome here any longer. We are not obliged to allow them to talk in a subversive manner about the overthrow of the system. Why should we allow this?
All monies coming in from the Middle East to build mosques and schools and centres of Islamic propagation should cease forthwith. It is senseless to allow that money into our countries. After all, it's a one-way system. They don't allow our money into their countries to propagate Christianity, or from anywhere else to propagate other religions, either.
Our governments need to encourage families to have more babies. Tax and fiscal policy should change to encourage bigger families. No civilization can survive without an adequate supply of babies. Indeed, that is one of the main reasons why civilizations decline!
All mosques where it is found that hatred or anti-Semitism is preached should be closed down with immediate effect, and never to be allowed to re-open.
All Islamic schools should be closed. In any case, they are madrasahs in all but name. It is absurd to allow them to open in the West; it is even more absurd to encourage them, à la Blair!
All immigration from Muslim countries should cease forthwith, for to continue to allow such immigration is tantamount to shoring up even more problems for ourselves for the future.
This list is by far not exhaustive. But it's a start.

Or, put another way, those that make the most noise get the attention. This is precisely what is happening with Muslims here in the West. They moan and gripe about how hard put upon they are, and badger the political élite to pass laws to protect them. The funny thing is: They usually get their way!
All prominent politicians these days seem to lack the resolve to tell them where to get off. Blair is particularly adroit at pandering and appeasing them. He really should have more spunk as the prime minister of this country; but he doesn't.
A few days ago, he compared, ridiculously in my opinion, Muslims with Protestants. "You get people in Northern Ireland who are Protestants who will go to kill a Catholic because they are Catholic but no one says 'that's Protestants for you'," he said.
Saying this shows us that Blair hasn't the foggiest idea of what he is talking about when it comes to Islam. He's clueless!
Muslims are playing the 'woe-is-me-game'. Oh, aren't we hard put upon? Oh, why does everyone misunderstand us? Oh, why don't people like us? Oh, why do people give us dirty looks? Why don't people trust us? Why do people fear us? You get the picture. They're playing this game as a strategy: a strategy of pushing for further Islam-friendly legislation. The sad thing is that with weaklings like Tony Blair leading us, they're getting what they want!
The BBC are just as bad. On their website this week, in the section Talking Point, entitled Are you young and Muslim in the UK?, they are inviting young Muslims to share their experiences of how downtrodden they are. This is the guff that the BBC wastes our ever increasing licence fee on! They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves! They would do a far better job if they tried to integrate these people, not set them apart as they are doing.
Muslims, wherever they are to be found, are all out to beat the Islamic drum, all out to further the Islamic cause. They should be thwarted in their attempts, and at every stage. This is still a Christian country, with a Christian Head of State, our gracious Queen Elizabeth II. Long may she reign over us! And long may she keep this country Christian! The way Blair is going about things, he'll give it all away, and scrap all our traditions. The Queen is said to find Tony Blair's attitude to some of the traditions and values that she holds dear rather vexatious. So says Simon Heffer in his excellent opinions in today's Daily Telegraph.
The sooner people come to realize that Muslims, by and large, have designs on the West, the better! For then we shall be able to stop playing this silly little game we are playing with them. They are playing around with us, and exploiting our sense of fair play.
They should be told where to get off! They should be told that if they don't like the nest, then flee it for pastures greener! They should be told that they have a fat chance of Islamizing Britain, for the British people will not tolerate being dragged back to mediævalism, to a by-gone, dark age! They should be told that they are welcome here if they play by OUR rules. We shall never play by theirs! For to do so would be the death of our civilization, the death of the West, the death of our liberty, the death of all that we hold dear!
They are all sqeaking gates, and, for now, they are getting the oil. This will have to stop. I can think of no other ethnic or religious group in this country in my lifetime that have been treated with kid gloves as they have been, and continue to be. Hopefully, one day a real leader will emerge, a leader with courage to give this country the leadership and direction it so badly needs. Roll on that day!

So now we have it on good authority: Osama bin Laden and his ilk want to turn the West away from its civilized past and wants the United States to convert to Islam, ditch its constitution, abolish banks, jail homosexuals and sign the Kyoto climate change treaty. (Source: Daily Telegraph, November 17, 2005). As if we didn't know it all before - though many, many people are still in denial about it - it has now all come out in a book : Messages to the World: The Statements of Osama bin Laden.
Osama bin Laden wants the United States to convert to Islam, ditch its constitution, abolish banks, jail homosexuals and sign the Kyoto climate change treaty...His terms for America's surrender appeared after the September 2001 suicide attacks and include demands that amount to the abandonment of much of western life.Let no-one be in any doubt about the intentions of Islam any longer. I feel vindicated, since if this happens the world really will be turned into darkness. The lights will go out; and benightedness will rule the world!
Alcohol and gambling would be barred and there would be an end to women's photos in newspapers or advertising.
Any woman serving "passengers, visitors and strangers", presumably anyone from air stewardesses to waitresses, would also be out of a job.
The West must "stop your oppression, lies, immorality and debauchery that has spread among you" and has become the "worst civilisation witnessed in the history of mankind". (Source: Daily Telegraph: November 17, 2005)
Robert Spencer, Trifkovic, Ibn Warraq, Hugh Fitzgerald, Bostom, et al are all vindicated, too. What we have all been saying can now be seen to be true. We do not exaggerate.
Now before we go any further, do not make the mistake of trying to separate the words of OBL from the words of the so-called dissembling moderates: There is only ONE Islam, and this is the Islam which Osama bin Laden is espousing. To believe otherwise is to live in ignorance; to act as though these words are just the rantings of a maniac, as our leaders are inclined to do, is the height of irresponsibility and negligence towards the future and security of the western electorate.
The West, as OBL rightly implies, is in a battle to the death: Folks, it's either theirs, or ours! It's as simple as that!
Osama bin Laden says: The West must "stop your [its] oppression, lies, immorality and debauchery that has spread among you [us]"..."[the West is the] worst civilisation witnessed in the history of mankind".
Really Osama, really! Let's look a little closer at these words, for they are truly interesting.
As I have told you before, Muslims - not just OBL - believe that we are living in a state of Jahiliyyah, a state of moral chaos. Far be it from me to state that the West doesn't have its fair share of immorality: it is everywhere around us, for all to observe. However, you shouldn't be too smug Osama, because I can tell you, from first-hand experience, that the Islamic Middle East, the birthplace of Islam, suffers just as much as we do from immorality, and probably even more! The difference between us is this: the Western world admits to it, and is open; the Islamic world does not, and is closed. In the Gulf, for example, immorality is swept under the carpet, for it to be hidden from view! Drug-taking, prostitution, homosexuality, alcoholism are all endemic in the Middle East, and largely because of the constraints of Islam! It's all part of the 'forbidden fruits syndrome'!
Go and live in the Middle East for a while, and observe for yourself the high incidence of men seducing men! If you are attractive, you had better wear a burkah, too, since young, frisky Middle Easterners have nobody to turn to to vent their highly-charged emotions, except for the attractive, handsome foreigners employed there!
Islam imposes enormous restrictions on their young men, since they cannot live a normal life. What do you think a young, maturing man does when faced with a situation in which he is denied all access to young, beautiful women?
As a result of these restrictions, they also turn to prostitutes, and probably in far greater numbers than their Western counterparts, since in the West, most people do not have to do this if they wish to satisfy their natural sexual desires. Take Iran as a case in point: That country has enormous problems with prostitution. What else can we really expect when people are so constrained?
Then we have the problem of drug-taking. Many young people are forced to turn to drugs because they cannot find another way of pursuing pleasure. After all, Islam denies them all normal pleasures. Do you really think that all people wish to turn to Allah in prayer five times a day? Is this the kind of life that God really wants for His people? Is there really nothing else in life than talking about religion, praying to Allah, and thinking about Him, and observing all those rituals? Do you really think you are going to be damned to eternal damnation for missing some prayers?
Let's take alcoholism as another of their endemic problems. This is a huge problem in the region. They just don't tell you about it. But I can tell you that there is a very big black market in the Middle East for alcohol, especially whisky. Johnny Walker Black Label is a particular favourite of theirs! At the time I lived there, it sold for £75 a bottle on the black market! It is probably far more expensive these days.
For those who couldn't source it, or for those who couldn't afford it, they would turn to the home-stilled stuff: Siddiqi, 'my friend'! That stuff, unless properly made and sourced, could turn you blind, for alcohol comes in two sorts: ethanol and methanol. People, there, have to be very careful.
You see, people are, in many ways, the same the world over: We all need our kicks from time to time; otherwise life becomes unbearable for us. Muslims are no different. Islam may be all right for the devout; but we cannot all be that devout; indeed, some people don't even wish to be!
I dare say that if the people of the Middle East were freed up, you would find that the problems of homosexuality, prostitution, drug-taking, and alcoholism would be fewer for the authorities to deal with. People, then, would be free to pursue their pleasures in more normal ways.
As for the West stopping its oppression..that's a joke, Osama! How hypocritical can you be? Who oppresses people more than the Saudi government, or any other Islamic governments for that matter? Women, as we all know, are not free, homosexuals, if caught, are punished severely - the official punishment in Islam is to throw the homosexual off the top of the local minaret! - alcoholics, and even those just imbibing a little, if caught, are punished by the whip. Oh, Osama, and don't talk to me about the debauchery of the West. You have enough debauchery where you live. As the saying goes: Get your own house in order first, before you come preaching to us about our lack of morality. That should keep you busy for a long time to come!
We don't want your beloved Islam to take over here in the West: We have a more civilized world as it is. Sure, it could be better; but then life isn't perfect. After all is said and done, we don't stone women to death by burying them up to the shoulders in sand, and then letting the mob start the lapidation! We don't behead people in the public square in barabraic fashion! We don't subject people to lashings for imbibing in a drop of alcohol! And we don't kill and maim people either, for having beliefs which we do not subscribe to.
The true chaos is not actually here in the West, but there, in the Islamic world. Now let's determine to keep it there. Before the world is thrust into a new dark age!
Further, you say that the West is the "worst civilisation witnessed in the history of mankind". Really, Osama! When the Islamic world has achieved in science, the arts, literature, music, educational standards, liberty, and living standards previously unheard of in the history of the world, then come back and speak to us. Till then, get working! You have a mountain of work before you!

There is a general feeling among many people that to be for the containment of Islam and against its rapid advance is to be extreme right wing.
In my opinion, this is not a question of right-wing or left-wing; rather, it's a question of common sense and a strong desire to maintain and strengthen our own civilization.
To allow Islam to grow apace in the West is tantamount to weakening our civilization, since Islam is our civilization's main competitor. It always has been, and always will be. To weaken one is to strengthen the other. Unashamedly, I am for strengthening ours. I make no apologies for that, since our civilization is based on Judeo-Christianity, and it has served us well. It has guaranteed far more and far better human rights, it has given us freedom of speech and freedom of expression, and a plethora of other freedoms which people in many other countries can only dream of. So, I re-iterate: It is not a matter of the politics of the left or the right; but it is a question of common sense and the will to survive!
What we need is good, solid, strong leadership: leadership by men of vision. Leadership by people who can see the problems ahead of us clearly, and leadership by people who can avert the disasters which may well befall us.
Unfortunately, today, the West is bereft of good, strong leadership. At the very time we need it, we don't have it. Would that society could throw up another Churchill or Roosevelt. Where would the West be today but for their sound leadership in times of crisis?
Today, wherever we look, leadership is flawed: In the US, we have President Bush - his leadership has been greatly weakened by his misguided attempt to bring democracy to Iraq. This is one experiment which is destined to fail, ultimately, since, as I have said many times before, Islam and democracy make strange bedfellows. In the one, all power rests with Allah and filters down; in the other, all power rests with the people, and filters up. It's difficult to square that circle! It seems quite fair to say that Bush's understanding of the main threat facing us - Islam - is wanting.
In the UK, we have a Prime Minister who is looking increasingly like a lame duck. He has spent eight years tinkering with the workings of government - unsuccessfully, it would seem to me - and has busied himself banning this, and banning that, and taking away people's freedoms into the bargain. Moreover, under his watch, we have a National Health Service which is in dire need of change, for it no longer functions as it should. Waiting lists to get treatment are long, and appear to be getting even longer. Our education system, too, is fouled up: educational standards no longer match up to the claims made for them. In addition, Tony Blair has sucked up to the Muslim community, and even wishes to introduce a bill which will stifle healthy debate about religion, fearing that healthy debate will offend the Muslim community! This man does not understand Islam - the main threat facing the Western world today!
In France, we have Chirac. Chirac is trying desperately to hold on to power at a time when his country is in crisis. A crisis caused largely by the Muslim community. Chirac, too, is a leader who shows no sign of understanding either Islam or how to deal effectively with its growth in France. Jacques Chirac lacks the courage and strength to take the necessary measures to deal with the crisis.
In Germany, we have Angela Merkel. She has come to power to boost the German economy, the engine of Europe. She has started badly, however, since she has had to appease the left in the 'grand coalition' by increasing taxes significantly in Germany to satisfy their demands, in return for being allowed to be the leader of the coalition. Increases in taxes in Germany make no sense, since the economy there is sluggish enough as it is. The increases in taxes which have been proposed will make the economy even more sluggish.
One thing, however, Angela Merkel has going for her: She wishes to put a stop to the ambitions of Turkey to accede to the EU, preferring instead to offer Turkey a privileged partnership. I fear she will have to gain in strength if she is to achieve the ambition of stopping Turkey, since there are many leaders in Europe, and in the USA, who seem very determined to get Turkey admitted and in so doing destroy Europe's heritage.
It has been said that Merkel has a strong potential ally in Nicolas Sarkozy, for he, too, is determined to keep Turkey out. Further, it is doubtful that the French themselves will be enamoured of the idea of allowing seventy odd million Muslims into Europe, especially after the mayhem that has been caused in France recently by their Muslim communities!
What we really need is someone to lead us to strength and victory. For, as Churchill was given to saying: without victory there is no survival! Our politically correct leaders today are far too mealy-mouthed to state such facts. They prefer to pander; for most of them live by the popularity polls! Doing what is popular is rarely the good option. As the Iron Lady used to say: I didn't come into politics to be popular; I came into it to do the right thing! Many leaders could learn a lesson from Mrs Thatcher! She led by her convictions, not by the popularity polls!
These days, it seems that we can only turn to royalty here in Europe if we wish to have some leadership! Our wonderful and gracious Queen Elizabeth II has affirmed her belief in the "uniqueness" of the Christian faith as a point of reference in the modern world. She said:
For Christians this pace of change represents an opportunity. When so much is in flux, when limitless amounts of information, much of it ephemeral, are instantly accessible on demand, there is a renewed hunger for that which endures. In saying this, the Times said that she defied Al Qaeda. The Queen, it appears, is prepared to show solidity and courage in the face of evil.
Further, the Queen of Denmark is on record as saying:
We are being challenged by Islam these years - globally as well as locally. It is a challenge we have to take seriously. We have let this issue float about for too long because we are tolerant and lazy.- Queen Margrethe of Denmark, from her recent biography.
We have to show our opposition to Islam and we have to, at times, run the risk of having unflattering labels placed on us because there are some things for which we should display no tolerance.
And when we are tolerant, we must know whether it is because of convenience or conviction.
President Bush has also shown some courage today on his trip to China, but has ruffled some feathers by holding Taiwan up as a rôle model for the Chinese! He pressed the Chinese authorities to allow more political and religious freedoms to the people of China. Isn't it strange that he can find the courage to challenge the Chinese on these matters, yet finds it so difficult to challenge the Saudis, and other Middle Eastern potentates to do the same? Does he not know how constrained the ordinary people of the Middle East are? Does he not know that they have no freedom to worship in the manner they wish, or not do so, as the case may be? Does he not know that people are tortured there for daring to defy the Islamic faith? Does he not know that people are beheaded in the public square for trivial reasons? Does he not know that churches may not be built, and that Christians are not free to worship in the Christian way, and are not even allowed to wear the crucifix around their necks? Does he not know that women are not free to drive, or free to go outside the home unaccompanied by male family members? Not even free to go into a café on a hot day to buy a cool drink? What kind of freedoms does the President call these? I wonder why he isn't lecturing there in the Middle East the same way as he is lecturing the Chinese?
You see, what we need is firm, strong leadership - leadership which is not hypocritical, and leadership which cares for the future of the free world, so that all peoples can live in peace, and freedom, and harmony. Not under the suppression of the growing influence of Islam!

President Jacques Chirac's measures to deal with France in crisis, France in flames, do not address the root cause of the violence; therefore, they are destined to fail.
Creating opportunities for young people is all well and good. Condemning the "poison" of racism is also to be lauded. However, it doesn't serve the French well to castigate themselves for failing to integrate the Muslims from North Africa, since Muslims generally have no intention of assimilating - their religion proscribes assimilation with the infidel - and because where people fail to assimilate, they live, by definition, in a parallel universe. It is this parallel universe which we observe in the French ghettos.
It should be pointed out that the French themsleves probably have about as little interest in integrating with the Muslims of North Africa as the Muslims of North Africa have in integrating with the French! To understand why, we need to make a few observations...
First and foremost, France belongs to the French. The French are a deeply proud nation; and there are many good reasons why it is so. French culture is high culture. The French are a clever, refined people. They have contributed much to the world: in the arts, in literature; in cuisine (think of the fine recipes and wonderful cheeses!), in viniculture (some of the finest wines in the world have traditionally been produced by the French), in fashion, in architecture, in furniture design, in science and medicine; indeed in oh so much. Who, for example, has a refined kitchen like the French? Their attention to the delights of the palette and the refinement of the table is unsurpassed by any culture. Nobody understands how to dine better than the French!
Moreover, take their language: Most languages are beautiful in their own way, at least when spoken properly; but it is difficult indeed to outclass the beauty of French when spoken and written well.
So the French have much to be proud of. Do you really think that there is much desire on the part of these people to integrate with people who come from North Africa with a totally different way of living? The French look down their snouts at the English and the Americans, and have great difficulty accepting us on equal terms! What chance have we got of withnessing their integration with Muslims, a people with a totally and utterly alien culture?
Muslims in France are equally proud. They also feel themselves to be superior. This comes from what their faith teaches them rather than from their achievements. Muslims the world over believe - firmly believe - that the world is theirs for the taking! It is their objective to Islamize the world, whether the rest of the non-Muslim world wishes to be Islamized or not.
Muslims live a different life altogether. They like to eat on the floor with their hands, they like to pray five times a day, they like to keep their women subjugated and inferior, covered up for none but the closest relatives to view, and, as we all know, they frown on the consumption of alcohol - at least officially!
For true integration to take place, there has to be some common ground. What common ground can we find between these two diametrically opposed peoples? The difference between them is as great as the difference between black and white, day and night!
Moreover, do you think that French people really want to integrate with a people who feel themselves to be superior, who eat on the floor, who do not respect art and high culture, who do not partake of fine wines, and who treat their women as inferior and as sex objects, there for the pleasure of their men? Oh, the list goes on!
The French should refrain from castigating themselves for their failures in this matter. One should ask oneself if they could have done anything to get Muslims to integrate? After all, the Prophet Muhammad exhorted his followers not to befriend the infidel, not to engage with them unless they absolutely have to. He also exhorted Muslims to kill and maim infidels where'er ye find them, and only to stop when they have been beaten into submission, when the infidel either embraces the faith or feels himself subdued, and when he is prepared to pay the Muslim community the tribute, or jiziyah! - the high tax levied on non-Muslims.
The fact of the matter is that France has just witnessed the first pangs of jihad, or holy war. The youth that rioted were heard shouting Allahu Akbar, God is Great(er)!, and chanting that this land will belong to us soon anyway! If this is not proof that there is something more sinister going on, then what is?
In general, the French response to this crisis is a typical socialist response. If there's a problem, throw more money at it! But I'm sorry to tell you that this one problem which money alone will not solve. What really needs to be done is to roll back the frontiers: The advance of Islam in France (and the West) needs to be halted, now, before it is too late.
Why does political correctness only go one way? How politically correct are Muslims? How much tolerance of non-Muslims do Muslims show? How many churches are built in the Middle East? How many Christian schools? Indeed, how many Christians are allowed to live there?
In the case of France, all troublemakers should be deported forthwith. Sarkozy has promised this. It is to be hoped that he acts on his promise. Further, it is to be hoped that the door through which they are sent is not a revolving one!
All illegal immigrants should be sent home. France is under no obligation to allow them to remain. Islam in France is growing apace. The riots have been a manifestation of this exponential growth. The growth needs to be stemmed; otherwise all good intentions, and all policies, however generous, will fail.
It would seem that France's greatest failure has been one of recognition: Recognition of the true problem facing it!

Watching a BBC online video on Talking Point last night entitled What outcome will the French riots have?, one could be forgiven for thinking that Islam had nothing to do with the riots in France during these past weeks. The whole programme gave no time for the discussion of the rôle of Islam in the disorder in France. Indeed, had it not been for one caller, an Italian, the "I" word wouldn't have been mentioned at all! Further, the guest French MP, Jacques Myard, went so far as to say that religion played no part in the violence. He could only bring himself to mention people of Arab descent! I would go so far as to say that no meaningful discussion can be conducted about the riots without mentioning the rôle Islam played in them!
We are stumbling from crisis to crisis because of the growing influence of Islam in the world, yet everyone seems to be quite unwilling to factor in this religion. It's simply amazing! Just how the BBC - often known as Al BBCeera to many these days, and for obvious reasons - can make a seemingly serious discussion programme about the French riots without even as much as mentioning the growing influence of Islam in France beats me!
The only one to mention Islam, as I have already mentioned, was a well-inflormed Italian. But Brigitte Kendall's discomfort when he spoke was palpable; so, of course, she gave him little air time.
If you have some spare time, it would be well worth spending a little of it to watch this video, since it encapsulates one of our greatest problems in today's Western world: The problem of speaking the truth!
Not speaking the truth, or not being allowed to do so, is the enemy of freedom and democracy. No democracy, however strong, can survive for long without being truthful. This stands to reason, for, in a case such as this, we are only empowering our attackers by failing to discuss the problem as it really is. How damaging political correctness has become to the furtherance of true democracy! Not only this, but we are damaging our own democracy at home. It seems that the goal of not offending others has become more important than our own survival as a civilization!
At one point in the programme, Jacques Myard mentioned the deleterious effect of polygamous marriages in French society, what a problem for the French government they had become, and the indirect rôle they played in the violence in recent weeks. At which point, Brigitte Kendall, the presenter, interjected and told the French MP that such comments could be considered by some to be "offensive"! 'Offensive', Ms Kendall? I don't think so! Are you not aware that it is quite illegal for anyone to marry more than one wife at the same time in our Western societies? These people are breaking the law. Were you or I to have more than one wife, I dare say that we would end up in prison for breaking the law. How come these people can get away with it? Is this another manifestation of over-tolerance of ethnic minorities, perhaps?
We have laws here in the West, and they should be obeyed. People who immigrate to the West know what the score is before they come here. I would suggest that if these people wish to marry more than one wife at the same time, then they should leave the West for different shores, for countries which tolerate such practises.
We are under no obligation to accept polygamous marriages. These people are living with us. We have offered them a good home, and they should not be disrespectful of the hospitality extended to them. I know what I do with disrespectful guests in my home: I kindly ask them to leave!
Polygamous marriages and honour killings are totally unacceptable in our society. This needs to be pointed out to these immigrants. Moreover, they should be told that they must obey the laws of the land. Just as everybody else has to do.
It seems to me that we have little chance of survival if we are paralyzed by pc attitudes and practises. Insisting on our own standards, however uncomfortable doing so might be, is of paramount importance for the survival of the West. Barbaric practises such as honour killing, should, under no circumstances, be tolerated. Nor should polygamous marriages, since this gives the growth of Islam in the West a shot in the arm which we can ill afford to give it. The number of babies being born to Western families is disproportionately low as it is; we need not exacerbate the demographic problem by allowing polygamous marriages here, too!
The West is in crisis! This crisis is brought about in no small part because of liberal-thinking and liberal solutions to very intractable and difficult problems. The liberal media are playing no small part in this crisis, since they are refusing to inform the people of what is actually going on. To try and conduct a serious programme on the causes and solutions for our neighbour, France, at this most difficult time for the French Republic, is as absurd as it is dangerous. Without speaking the truth, we will come to no good solution! How can good, real and long-term solutions be found when the real problem is swept under the carpet?
This is no time to dissemble. France has a real problem on its hands; we could have the same problem next. The quicker this problem is solved, the quicker French society will be able to return to order and normality.
Ever since 9/11, our leaders, our media, our pundits have all been busy, busy, busy trying to make excuses for Islam. Indeed, even to mention the "I" word has become fowned upon. Such is the Zeitgeist!
If they won't tell you, I will: The riots we have been witnessing in France in recent weeks have been caused not so much because of failed French policies - how could they have succeeded, since Muslims won't integrate! (they keep themselves separate by dint of their religion) - but by the growth of Islam there. Indeed, many of the rioters were heard shouting Allahu akbar, God is Great(er)!, and such things as this land belongs to us [Muslims]! Unless we come to realize, and pretty soon, that we have this problem of the growth of Islam in our midst, then we shan't be able to deal with such crises effectively. Throwing more money at the problem may help in the short-term, but in the long-term a far better solution will have to be found.
I feel sure that upon further investigation, and in the fullness of time, we will see the hand of Al-Qaeda is this very violent unrest in France.
The future for France looks bleak indeed. In fact, it doesn't look much brighter for any of us. We have brought upon ourselves a colossal problem. It will take all the courage and determination we can muster to solve it. Dissembling, especially to the degree to which the BBC has elevated it to (i.e. an art form), when discussing Islam, can only weaken us still further.

Until 9/11, the western world was largely ignorant of the religion of Islam, of its goals, of its aspirations. Indeed, even since 9/11, most people, and that includes our politicians, would not score very highly in a test of their knowledge on the subject. It should be obvious to all thinking people that our politicians are actually unaware, dare I say blind, to the dangers that Islam will increasingly cause us. It is truly a case of the blind leading the blind! That means to say, uninformed and unthinking politicians leading an ill-informed electorate. But folks, this is what we have right now. The same can hardly be said of Muslims in the Islamic world, though; for their knowledge of Christianity far surpasses - even though much of their knowledge is quite distorted - any knowledge of Islam by the man in the street in the West.
As the old saying goes, knowledge is power. But what we often don't hear uttered is its converse: Ignorance is weakness!
The West is far weaker than it need be because of this ignorance of Islam, since Islam is our greatest enemy. The greatest enemy since Nazism and communism. I'll give you some good reasons why this is so. And none of them - absolutely none of them - are based on hatred!
Islam is the enemy of the West for a plethora of good, solid reasons, and if we wish to survive as a civilization, we are going to have to bite the bullet and deal, head on, with the issues these reasons raise. Let us begin...
First and foremost, we are dealing with a religion which does not recognize any separation of politics and religion, any separation of the political from the spiritual. For Muslims, life is one coherent whole: the political and spiritual both meld into one. This has always been so, and always will be. No re-classification of the religion into two separate parts is possible because of Islam's very nature.
In Islam, all power rests with Allah, the god of Muslims. The Qur'an, their holy book, is always taken literally. Those words are considered to be the actual words of Allah. Therefore, none of these words can be changed, for to change any of them would be tantamount to tampering with Allah's words. This would be a grave sin in their eyes.
For the same reason that the words contained in the Qur'an cannot be changed, they cannot, therefore, be re-interpreted either. So do not hold your breath for any kind of reformation in this religion, because it 'ain't gonna' happen!
In Islam, all power rests with Allah, and it filters down via his vice-gerents on earth to the people. Hence the great desire among Muslims to restore the caliphate. Contrast this with the Western model of government!
In the West, the ideal political system is democracy. In democracy, all power rests with the people, and they exercise that power at the polls. In a democracy, all power filters in the opposite direction from Islam. In democracy it filters up; in Islam, down! Herein lies the greatest barrier to the miscibility of the two worlds: the western world and the Islamic world!
Without digressing too much here, I should like to add that this is the main reason why George W Bush and Blair's venture into Iraq to bring democracy there was a grave error of judgment. How can one bring democracy to a region of the world where the people who inhabit that region believe that all power rests with Allah, and where they believe that Allah has prescribed their way of life for them for then, for now, and for all time?
I would suggest that where such a dichotomy exists, the most sensible and prudent thing to do would be for us to lead our lives as we see fit, and for those people to be allowed to live their lives as they see fit. That way, there would be hope of some peace in this world.
But this is not what we have done. We have done the very opposite of this: We have entered the Middle East in the hope - the vain hope in my opinion - of bringing our way of doing things, our way of life, to them; furthermore, we have allowed millions and millions of Muslims into the West - and at the very time when Christianity, the religion which underpins the West, is greatly weakened anyway - which will only give us headaches for the years ahead. Why? Because Muslims who immigrate bring their hopes and dreams and aspirations with them of establishing Islam everywhere on earth. To Islamize the world is the main aspiration of the Muslim; and we have seen these past weeks, the manifestation of aggression in its cause in France. For what happened in France was in no small part because of the Muslim's desire to establish Allah's caliphate here on earth. These were the first rumblings, the first roar of the lion! Expect more of this in the future, as Islam grows stronger and stronger.
Muslims, by and large, do not respect non-Muslims. How can they? Their religion does not allow them to do so. Their religion preaches that Muslims are superior to non-Muslims; indeed, they use the derogatory term infidel for us. This word to some Westerners might simply mean that they call us infidels because we are people who do not subscribe to their faith. This, after all, would be quite logical, since to us it simply means not fidele, or not true to the faith. But this does not completely describe what Muslims mean by this term. To Muslims, to be called an infidel is an insult indeed! It has connotations of inferiority, backwardness, and even uncleanness!
You see, Muslims believe that Islam is the perfection of religion for man for all time. They call it ad deen al kamal, the perfect religion. People, in their eyes, who have not yet submitted to the will of Allah, are in a state of pre-Islamic chaos, a state known to them as Jahiliyyah! To Muslims, all Muslims, the whole world is classified in two parts: that part of the world which has submitted, and is therefore in the Islamic state, known as Dar al Islam, and that part of the world which has yet to submit, and is therefore in a pre-Islamic, chaotic, jahiliyyic state, known as Dar al Harb, or the House of War!
The House of War is the part of the world which has yet to be taken over, and must at some point be taken over in the future. We, I am sorry to inform you, are in the House of War. So we can expect anything at anytime.
Some people would ask why we were able to go for quite a long time without problems with Muslims. The answer to that is a simple one indeed. First of all, there were relatively few Muslims living in the West, so the ones that did live here were not powerful. Secondly, Muslims living in the Islamic world were, for the most part and for many years, poor by anyone's standards. This all changed with the Oil Embargo of the 70s - a time when the price of oil on the world markets soared. As a result of this, the Islamic world became rich and empowered. Money is power; and it talks loudly! In recent years we have seen evidence aplenty of Islam being on the move. I tell you now: If we do not find a way of clipping its wings here in the West, we shall lose our democracy, and we shall be in deep, deep trouble.
So the trouble we will have with Muslims will not come only from without, but in the future we can expect trouble from the Muslims within. The millions of Muslims living here in the West will not integrate, because it is not in their worldview to do so. It is also forbidden them by their very own Prophet Himself, the Prophet Muhammad. He forbade Muslims even to befriend infidels. He also exhorted them to kill us. And he certainly told them that they should live separate lives, and dress and behave differently, so that they could easily tell themselves apart.
No Western politician is going to be able to change these facts. For facts they are indeed. Moreover, as Islam will grow here, their numbers will become greater and greater, and they will be able to use our democratic system to outvote us and introduce their form of government based as it is on their beloved Shariah, or quranic laws! How do you propose we shall be able to stop them? We shall be outnumbered, and as the outcome of democratic elections depends on the number of votes cast, we shall be able to do nothing about it! This time will come quicker than we might think, because so few babies are being born to infidel families.
The only thing left for people to do, will be to fight. Inevitably, at some point, civil war will ensue. If the political process fails people, then this will be all that will be left for them: civil war, guerre civile, Bürgerkrieg, call it what you will.
But one thing I can assure you, no politicians' sweet talk, posturing, or manœvring, will get us out of this one without conflict at some point in the future.
You see, one of the biggest problems for the West is its devotion to the concept of freedom of religion. This is a lofty concept and ideal indeed; but this devotion blinds people to one important reality: Islam is not just a religion, but a political system also. Indeed, it is more of a political system than anything else, and it is, in addition, a political system diametrically-opposed to our own. It abhors freedom of choice, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of anything that we so cherish! The only thing one is free to do in Islam is become a Muslim, and submit to the will of Allah!
These two systems are totally immiscible, and unfortunately, we have imported this immiscibility right into the heart of the West! To our own great disadvantage, and to the disadvantage of our long term peace and security. What, I ask you, will the Americans do when the ever growing Muslim population in America starts wanting to tinker with the Americans' beloved Constitution? When Muslims will see their way clear to supplant the Constitution with Shariah law?
Questions like these are the ones we should be grappling with NOW. To wait until the time comes would be foolish indeed.
Wake up to the harsh realities of life in the twenty-first century! We've got some collective thinking to do if we wish to save ourselves from darkness! Perhaps we shall, indeed, be forced to think about having to re-classify Islam as a political system first and foremost, a political system immiscible with our own, and one whose advance needs to be forestalled. This may be one of our only sensible alternatives. Since to give complete, unhampered freedom to Islam to grow here in the West is tantamount to digging our own graves!

Food for thought for Muslims!
The very last thing I wish to do is turn this weblog into some kind of Christian missionary website; but, as one of the justifications for the veracity of Islam is that Jesus was not crucified, I thought it would be interesting for my visitors to read the following evidence of Jesus' crucifixion from non-Christian sources. I shall let you decide:
Ancient evidence for Jesus from non-Christian sources.
Then we have the evidence for Jesus from Dr William Lane Craig.
We all need a little convincing sometimes. These websites certainly give one food for thought, if nothing else.

The Rape of the West!
The West is under a great strain. It is being attacked from without and from within. Politicians lack the vision and will to do anything concrete about it, and where they may have some vision, they are paralysed by the concepts of political correctness and multiculturalism. The West is crippled!
We are faced with the relentless advance of Islam in the form of the Jihad, and immigration (which is another form of Jihad, equally dangerous to the West in its own way).
Politicians refuse to face the facts. They prefer, instead, to mollify and appease, and in the process imperil the future of the West. They are placing our future on the roulette table, allowing the ball to stop where it will - gambling and allowing the chips to fall where they may. In short, they are playing fast and loose with YOUR future!
Western civilization, based as it is on Judeo-Christianity, has served us well. We have advanced more than any other civilization in history. Our living standards have risen and risen, our cultural achievements are many and varied, and the advancement in matters of medicine, science, and technology are unsurpassed in the history of the world. Yet we are complacent. We have lost our determination to defend what has been hard won.
Western civilization has brought us freedoms unknown in many societies. We have the freedom to believe, or not to do so, as is our pleasure. We have the freedom to speak, the freedom criticize, the freedom to be what we wish to be; and we even have sexual freedom these days, and there is little reproach or condemnation for deviating from the norm.
But all these freedoms will come to an abrupt end if Islam grows too strong here in the West; for Islam understands no such freedoms. Islam is an extremely prescriptive religion. In Islamic societies, all must believe in Allah and His final Messenger, the Prophet Muhammad. And all good Muslims follow his lead, his mannerisms, his way of eating, living, and even his way of dressing! In so being, isn't it true to say that Muslims are given to filiopiety?
Any society which engages too much with its past is likely to stunt its future development. Having reverence for the history of one's culture is one thing, paying too much homage to one's history is quite something else! It makes people retrospective rather than prospective; and economic growth and development suffer as a result. It is no co-incidence that Islamic societies underachieve.
As Islam grows here in the West, we, too, are destined to have our growth and economic development stunted. We will pay a high price for this growth of Islam. How can a country be forward-thinking when its citizens constantly look backward? This is asking for the impossible. Further, how can it be highly-productive when so much time is spent at prayer?
If the West becomes sclerotic, we shall have only ourselves to blame for allowing this to happen.
For our part, we have become obsessed by globalization, free trade and the free movement of people, thereby changing the nature of our societies, and almost out of all recognition to boot. Look, for example, at the US of the 1950's! Who could have foreseen the way that country would develop? Ditto, the UK!
Now, in the West, anything goes. Church attendance is at an all-time low, changing the way people behave, changing the way families interact with one another, changing the sexual mores of our nations. Changing the very fabric of our once decent societies! As a result, people have become overly acquisitive, materialistic, inhospitable, and egocentric! Who cares for his neighbour anymore? Who wants to entertain anymore? And how many people show low standards when it comes to dress and manners? Indeed, is there a dress code at all anymore? And what about people's use of foul language? Words are used today that our forefathers wouldn't have dreamt of using! They had a sense of decency which many today have lost. And what about all those fatherless children - children born out of wedlock? Many children in the West today do not know who their fathers are! How grim a picture of society is that? These are all signs, by the way, of a civilization in decline. In many ways, the Church has much to answer for, since it has been weak in the face of adversity.
Take Islam by contrast: Islam is strong and growing ever stronger. Why? Because Muslims are confident of themselves, confident of their past, confident of their future, and confident of their belief system, above all. We, by contrast, belly-ache about our past, are confused about our present, and, further, we know not whither we go! How sad a picture is this!
People who leave their roots, leave those roots at their own peril; and if they are not sure about where they are headed, they will end up where the wind blows them!
The West, in embracing multiculturalism, has lost its soul. We have become apologetic for ourselves, when no apology is actually needed at all. What happens, for example, at Christmas? That most wonderful of Christian seasons - indeed second only to Easter in its importance in the Christian calendar? It is being destroyed by commerce (because of over-commercialization and because of businessmen bowing to political correctness) and destroyed by petty bureaucrats who refuse to place the symbols of Christmas in public places for fear of offending Muslims, and others of different religious persuasions.
This, I tell you, is wrong, wrong, wrong! We must be proud of our heritage, proud of our religious traditions, proud of what has brought us to where we now are. No Muslim would care if his blessed Eid were to offend, or his Ramadan! Go live in Saudi Arabia a while, and see how much they care about offending YOU! They don't. Period! And so it should be here in the West.
Who on earth wants to be wished 'Happy Holidays'? Oh, God, isn't that so bland! 'Happy Holdays' indeed! Summer holidays, winter holidays? Which holidays? How weak, how fawning, how submissive can one be? Indeed, how dhimmitudinous!
In fairness to Muslims, though, I have to say that I am not aware that Muslims complain that much about the celebration of Christmas. On the contrary, as People of the Book, they should be, and usually are, glad for us. This problem arises not so much from the Muslims in our midst, but from the politically correct. They should be well and truly ignored. Well and truly chastised!
Then we have the problem of allowing Islam to be spread here because of the huge sums of money available to such people as the Saudis who use these untold resources to spread their faith. We allow it. We allow these people to come here and build schools, pay for university chairs, propagate their faith, buy up our businesses, buy up our fine houses, buy up our land. We are fools, for no such activities may be undertaken in their country. Reciprocity should be, and must become, the watchword. Where something cannot be reciprocated, it should be stopped; otherwise, this will spell eventual disaster for our way of life. If we wish to preserve it, then something will have to be done about it. It's that simple.
The West is being diluted at every turn. But we cannot hope to survive this way. Any intelligent Muslim knows that the West is his for the taking. We have even heard such statements recently, uttered by the rioting Muslims of France.
No civilization has survived this way. Never has. Never will. For our civilization to survive, we will have to start respecting it, and nurturing it, too; otherwise, it will shrivel on the vine.
Our leaders suck up to the Saudis, believing, erroneously as it happens, that they have the oil that we so desperately need. But the real fact of the matter is that many régimes, such as the Saudi régime, could not, and would not, survive were it not for our support. We are propping them up; therefore, they owe us some favours, too. They need us every bit as much as we need them. This is what our fawning, weak politicians fail to understand! Our politicians are allowing the West to be raped. Constant raping will lead to sudden death!
The choice is ours to make!

More violence despite curfews
Last night saw still more violence in France despite the curfews the French government have imposed, though some improvement has been reported.
More than thirty towns across France have imposed curfews, and where curfews are in place, nobody under the age of sixteen is allowed out between ten o'clock at night and six o'clock in the morning. Further, anyone under tha age of sixteen is banned from buying petrol. In spite of the improvement, however, the measures taken so far have failed to prevent riots sweeping the country. In excess of 558 cars were torched, and more than two hundred arrests were made. So order has yet to be restored.
Recent riots are grist to Le Pen's far-right party, the National Front, which will certainly milk the situation for all it's worth. His anti-immigrant views are apparently going down well with the electorate there. 78% of people are said to be supporting the curfews, and 58% said they were "scandalized" by the recent violence. In all, approximately 6000 cars have been burnt so far, 1500 people have been arrested, and dozens of schools, nurseries, gymnasiums, warehouses, and small businesses have been destroyed. Alas, one 61 year old man has died as a result of the violence.
Dominique de Villepin has said: The Republic is at a moment of truth. What is being questioned is the effectiveness of our integration model. Well, it is certainly a moment of truth for la Republique française, but not in the way he meant it.
France's integration model may well have failed. But how could it have succeeded when faced with a people determined not to integrate? France's real moment of truth is that France has allowed far too many mmigrants into the country, thus swamping local culture and traditions. Moreover, the French are an extremely proud people. They have always been known for their sense of superiority. Ironically, however, so are the poor Muslim immigrants known for their pride and sense of superiority, too. Muslims feel that theirs is the true religion, the true way of life, the true, straight path, as siraat al mustaqeem, the path that leads to Allah. They feel that their religion has come to supersede Judaism and Christianity. To Muslims, it is the perfection of all religions for all time: ad deen al kamal.
The French think of theirs as high culture (rightly in my view), but so do Muslims think of Islamic culture as being superior, though it's hard to imagine why given their propensity to kill and maim!
Nicolas Sarkozy in a moment of inspiration has ordered that all those taking part in the riots, be they in possession of legal residence permits or not, be expelled. This, of course, was the correct approach. The French must re-take control of their own country; and the correct way of dealing Muslims is always to use the firm hand. Muslims, in my experience, respect no weakness.
I always remember once being told by a student of mine at the time when one of the large London mosques had been built and was to be opened. He said something like this: Your country very weak! (In Arabic, the present tense of the verb 'to be' is not used, hence there is no 'is' in the sentence.) My country very strong! When asked why this was so, he replied: [Because] you can't build kaneesat (churches) in my country, but I can build masjeed (mosques) in your country. This means we strong. You weak, Mr!
That should tell you a great deal about the mentality of these people; morever, this was an attitude I met with so often in my time in the Middle East. Regrettably! I soon learnt that one should never deal with the Muslim Arab from a point of weakness. I learnt quickly, too, that they only ever respect strength. Men, especially, have to be strong. Weakness in a man is seen as a sign of effeminacy. The wearing of the beard is one manifestation of the glorification of manhood in Arab culture. And one should never forget that Islam is an Arab religion, so the Arab mentality permeates the Muslim mind, regardless from where he hails.
So let's praise Nicolas Sarkozy for having the courage to declare that all troublemakers be deported forthwith. It is refreshing indeed to witness the Napoleonic spirit alive and kicking in a Frenchman today! He deserves all our support for his gesture of anti-dhimmitude, all our support for his strength. All praise be to Sarkozy!

Some sensible, tough words at last from the French!
Nicolas Sarkozy has spoken some sensible, tough words. At last, some common sense coming from the French! Get on with it now! Waste no more time! These people wish to bring your country down; and they'll bring the rest of Europe down with your country, too, if something decisive isn't done soon!

Stirring the stew to stop it burning!
What a stew we are in! And our leaders have made it!
We have defied logic for years. We have been hell-bent on making our world multicultural, multi-ethnic, multi-this, and multi-that! But our leaders have neither stepped back from the situation to observe the results of our experimentation nor asked whether our goals are really and truly achievable. The result is what we observe going on in France right now. But don't, for goodness sake, think it will end there in France; and don't be too smug, either. We've all got it coming to us sooner or later.
We are now in such a fine mess that all our leaders seem to be able to do is stir the stew to stop it catching fire, but it is already beginning to boil over.
The older I get, the more I realize that we are being led by people who understand absolutely nothing of the nature of Islam and absolutely nothing about what to do to rectify the mess they have got us into. This is most surely a perfect example of the blind leading the blind!
What do our leaders do when they find themselves in a pickle? They react by throwing money here and throwing money there, arresting this one, and scolding the other. But none of these measures are enough to avert the impending disaster. We need fundamental change. But who is going to have the spunk to set those changes in motion? I see no leader around me with the necessary vision or foresight or courage. Our leaders are reactors to a man!
We need a Churchill like the French need a Napoleon. But where is he?
This problem with Islam has been festering for years now. Ever since 9/11, it has festered more and festered more quickly; moreover, I am of the firm belief that things have been handled extremely badly. Starting with President Bush's handling of the situation!
What did he do the day after 9/11? He addressed the American nation, and the world, saying that America was not at war with Islam. Yes, I agree that America was not at war with Islam; however, it was so blatantly obvious that Islam was at war with America! The President should have said so, and in no uncertain terms! He should not have appeared on television with the Qur'an in front of him along with the Bible and the Torah. What, after all, has Islam contributed to America? Could we have imagined the King of Saudi Arabia appearing on television with the Bible or the Torah in front of him? I think we all know the answer to that question!
Had President Bush had the courage to say that 9/11 was an act of war against the American nation, and the West!, then this would have put Muslims on the defensive, and would have thrown the problem back over to the Islamic world for Muslims to solve! It would have placed Muslims - the enemy - on the defensive, which is always a good strategy in any war. But, instead, we started apologizing for Islam! Which war was won this way? Where were President Bush's strategists that they didn't advise him better?
The way President Bush played it, he made the problem his own, and he alienated much of the Western world into the bargain! He could easily have made the case that Islam was at war with America, and by extension the West, for it was plain for all to see! The way George W Bush did things, he let the Islamic world completely off the hook! Not a good strategy at all.
Then we have the somersaulting and contortions of the brain to try and understand the perceived differences between moderate Islam and fundamentalist Islam, whereas, in actual fact, there are none. There is only ONE Islam, and that is the Islam we now observe all around us. Al Qaeda's ideology is the real thing. No amount of playing with words will detract from this fact. Islam, at its core, is aggressive, and has always been spread by the sword. It's just that today they have more sophisticated weapons than the sword!
Our policies need changing if we are to win this war, and if we are save our civilization.
First of all, we shouldn't be in bed with the Saudis. They are the ones who are funding mosques and schools, and the ones who are propagating their particularly pernicious and puritanical form of Islam. They are allowed to buy up our beautiful homes, our land, and our successful businesses and commercial ventures. This must stop!
Secondly, we need to reduce severely our dependence on oil. The wings of the oil companies need to be clipped, just as the wings of the unions had to be clipped during the Thatcher years. Our problems today come not from unions but from the oil companies, since socialism is no longer our enemy, but Islam, and Islam is the home of our main source of oil!
The technology, I am told on good authority, is in place for cars to run successfully on something other than petrol. This technology needs to be developed. There should be tax advantages for people turning to vehicles which run on alternative fuels. This would help the environment greatly, too. By continuing to use oil as our main source of energy, we are making our problems far worse than they need be, and we are shoring up even more problems for ourselves for the future. We are damaging the environment at the same time.
We need to start making babies again. With such a low birthrate, and with our businesses crying out for cheap labour, and with immigrant Muslims fitting the bill, enormous pressure is being put on our politicians to open the floodgates. By allowing ever more Muslims into the West, we are diluting our own culture to the point where our civilization will be totally unable to survive. The example of the 'Fall of Rome' should be one with which we should become altogether more familiar. The world has been here before! Rome collapsed in no small part because of the barbarians which were increasingly allowed to enter the Empire. We are doing the same as the Romans did! We shouldn't be surprised, then, if we end up with the downfall of our civilization. When baking, if you put the same ingredients into the mixture of the cake, you will get exactly the same cake out of the oven. Funny, isn't it!
By making our own babies again, we will be able to become less and less dependent on the immigrants from the Muslim world. We need to become less dependent on their babies as we need to be less dependent on their oil.
Further, the West needs to start acting in concert: we need to act as one, and in co-ordinated fashion; for, as the old saying goes: united, we stand; divided, we fall. It's as simple as that.
How on earth can we expect to survive as a civilization when we continue to undermine it as we do. On the one hand, we find it necessary to go to Iraq to try and bring democracy there, while at the same time we are fast losing it at home! How stupid is that!
We allow all this money to come in from the Middle East to propagate a faith which is totally alien - yes, totally alien - to our own, when they won't allow a nickel into their countries to propagate ours! Our leaders really are dorks!
If we wish to survive as a civilization, if we wish it to come to the third millennium, then we need to start changing our outlook, and fast. The way we are going about things, it is doubtful that it will come to the year 2100. The situation is that dire!
So, dear leaders, stop feathering your own nests, and start thinking about your civilization, start thinking of how dreadful life will be like for the common folk if Islam takes over. For dreadful it will be! So, dear leaders, stop stirring the stew, and stop applying the heat, too. Stews have a nasty habit of boiling over!
